I primarily use enhanced matte paper. In the past, I have used paper cutters that cut poorly and leave a white edges because it only takes off the top layer of the paper. I have also had guides slip or the paper slip as I am cutting. I have had none of those problems with this one.
The only issue I have with this cutter is really just a user error. I have problems matching up where the edge of the photo is on the paper. So I have to try multiple times to get it right at the edge of the photo. This will get better with experience.

These are the best rotary cutters. Highly stable, beautiful lines, and very sharp. It glides well and unlike other cutters, allows you to take the smallest sliver off. I have used them in professional darkrooms and production studios, we have an old one at home, and this new one at my office does the job for in-house production of signs, photos, and presentation materials.

I bought this cutter to replace a smaller, older cutter and I am extremely happy with my choice of a Rotatrim cutter. I can now easily trim the large prints I get from My new 3880. The device is of extremely solid construction, cuts very cleanly, allows for easy measurement of the final cut, it stays put on the table when cutting and it stores very easily. I have only positive impressions of this unit, no negatives.

I selected this paper ccutter for use in a high school graphic design class. It cuts very well. It is heavy enough to prevent sliding while cutting. The parts are substantial and sturdy. I feel we have invested our money wisely. I am very pleased with this product.

I've used cheap trimmers in the past, and was tired of the cheap construction and poor results. This trimmer is definately an investment at the price, but you really get what you pay for in this trimmer. VERY well built and perfect cuts every time.

Right out of the box you can see that this is a quality machine. I tried it out and it is a pleasure to use. A note for buyers. The maximum cut of this 18" trimmer is indeed 18". If you are trimming 13" x 19" paper, you will need to trim the short end first to get it down to 18", then trim the long side. So this 18" trimmer is advertised accurately. For my needs this works perfectly, but if you need more space, get the next bigger size. I would also caution against getting the next smaller size unless you are 100% sure you will never cut 13" x 19" to 12" x 18" and then want to fine tune your trim.

I've been using this cutter to trim photos. So far, the cut is awesome! Only had this a few weeks, but according to others, this cutter can last many years at excellent performance. Happy I decided to upgrade to a professional cutter.

Have only used this trimmer a few times so far to cut business cards and some 40 and 70lb paper. It has cut everything smoothly and accurately. It seems very durable, and I expect it will cut all of the paper, photos and cardstock my business needs it to for many years.

I needed a cutter to trim 10 mil laminated photographs made into bookmarks. No one reviewing seems to use it for trimming laminated items. This does the trim perfectly, without leaving hard or sharp edges. And the trims I've tried so far, basic and very fine all were exact and perfect. No slippage. No mis-cuts. Trims effortlessly.

I'm so impressed with the sturdiness and the quality construction. This will probably be the only trimmer I need unless I ever need to trim larger prints.

Thanks to the other reviewers for recommending the 18" over the 15". Gives room to expand sizes I trim in the future.

Over the years, I have used many other types of paper cutters. All of them would cut paper, but not accurately. Wish now that I had bought this one in the first place. Very accurate and easy to use.

I bought eight of these for my company's use. We don't trim a lot of prints, but I got these because they're sharp, flush, and accurate. Take care of it; most rotary trimmers deteriorate quickly when they're abused.

I should have ordered this a long time ago. We produce small quantity DVD orders and cutting the covers to fit the DVD case is a pain. This cutter is quick and very accurate. I just wish the plaform was longer from blade to left edge of board. We'd like to be able to lay a 14" long sheet of paper down to a marked cut edge instead of having to "sight" that first cut. The price and [...] were great.

This is a precision piece of equipment. I use it to get a professional looking result for my photographs. It cuts quickly and easily. The blade is super sharp and I can trim hair's width pieces from the edges of glossy photo paper. I would recommend this cutter. It is solidly built to last a lifetime of cutting. I have no regrets about spending the extra money for this; it won't need replacement.

Have had the 12" model for over 5 years. Still as sharp as the day I bought it. This thing cuts razor clean edges! Got the 18" for more flexibility in paper sizes. You will not be disappointed with this cutter.
