The Cable Switch 205 has a 1.6'(50cm) cable and will help prevent camera shake when shooting super telephoto shots, macrophotography and bulb exposures. Handy for taking pictures of subjects that are difficult to approach, or to minimize vibration for close-ups and time exposure.

Comments about Pentax Cable Switch 205 (Cable Release) - 1.6' (50cm):
I bought this Pentax cable release some months ago and I finally had the time to do some practise with it. It is great with bulb mode. I used a tripod and switched off all the lights in the kitchen except for one very low, warm light and practised with different exposure times. I was delighted with the results. It's so much easier than having to keep the shutter open by pressing the shutter release button on the camera. I have a slight tremor and the tripod alone was not enough for night photography using the bulb mode. The cable switch prevents camera shake when using B mode but it's also good to use with other long exposure settings. It connects to the cable release terminal of your camera and is very easy to use. It's also very light and small so it fits easily into your camera bag. I'm very happy with it and I can see I will be using it a lot.

Comments about Pentax Cable Switch 205 (Cable Release) - 1.6' (50cm):
I use the cable release for macro and all tripod shots, makes for all around better pictures.
It works exactly like it is supposed to, I really have no serious complaints.
It is a little bigger than I am used to, I have always used the one for my Pentax PZ-1 and it is a lot smaller and seems a little better built than the 205, but things are always changing.

Very useful when taking shots with long exposure times as it keeps the camera movement to a bare minimum and used in conjuction with the timer the camera remains steady while the timer takes effect.

The shutter switch just gone broke the other day. The 'click then move' mechanism for the long shutter switch wasn't smooth; it was difficult to use for a long-shutter photography anyway!

This is a wired remot. It works fine and lasts as long as you are gentle with it. One good yank/trip and the ods are you will break the wires inside the cable. I would give it the same reliability as a PC cord. If you can god wireless do. Works nice for long exposure shots.
