I had a lot of trouble with my Epson Stylus 2200 with ink clots, running out of ink, and inconsistent coverage. It turned out it was the off-market ink I was using. I went back to Epson and I've found that paying the extra for the brand-name has been worth the fewer headaches I've experienced!

I use the Epson ultrachrome inks with my 2200 printer. When I recently took some of my underwater photos to a small gallery for display, the owner asked me how I got the colors so brilliant. I mainly use Epson paper. I have used other papers to good effect, but if I print too many photos with them my printer wheels seem to get saturated and I have to give the printer a good cleaning. I haven't had this problem when using Epson paper. Also, the ink seems to last longer when I use Epson paper. I still wish that B&H would carry the larger cartridges for my printer.

Something like an ink cartridge which you purchase on a regular basis and you know what you are getting. B&H had the best price and as any photographer knows you can trust you are getting what you think you are getting.
No problems with the cartridge in fact it fixed the problem I was having with the printer. Delivered as expected and in perfect condition.
I would not use 3rd party inks with this printer

I really like the photo print quality of my Epson 2200 printer. It uses 7 ink cartridges like the one above and the ink is not too expensive. I've had the printer for many years and it continues to perform well. It works best with the paper profile loaded for the paper I'm using. I can print photos up on paper up to 17X19 inches, although the borderless printing does not print clear to the top edge of the paper. I'm an amateur nature photographer, with many published bird pictures. I print photos for framing as gifts to fellow Audubon members and to my family.
