Audio-Technica AT4040 - Cardioid Large Diaphragm Studio Condenser Capacitor Microphone

You Pay: $299.00

The Audio-Technica AT4040 is a large diaphragm, cardioid capacitor microphone designed for use in the most demanding recording applications. Intended for vocal and general instrument recording (piano, guitars, string instruments etc.), the microphones cardioid polar pattern minimizes off-axis signal reducing ambient and residual noise and delivers pristine low-noise recordings. The AT4040 has an integral 80 Hz hi-pass filter provides easy switching from a flat frequency response to a low-end roll-off. The high-pass position reduces the microphone's sensitivity to popping in close vocal use. It also reduces the pickup of low-frequency ambient noise (such as traffic, air-handling systems, etc.), room reverberation and mechanically-coupled vibrations.

Transformerless Circuitry

      Whoa!

      Comments about Audio-Technica AT4040 - Studio Microphone:

I was using an AKG dynamic mic in my home studio, and I bought this to get a more crisp sound to my voice. From the second I turned this on, there was a noticeable difference, and it sounds extremely accurate. I am using a reflection filter and an Alesis USB mixer/preamp. Definitely recommend this mic!

        Comments about Audio-Technica AT4040 - Studio Microphone:

Definitely a good purchase, I was looking at one of the rode mics that was a little more pricey. The quality definitely outweighed the rode and was cheaper...

I use it for tracking vocals and acoustic guitar, really clear and warm tone, can't really fault it, it's a good like mic for my mini studio in my apartment.

          Comments about Audio-Technica AT4040 - Studio Microphone:

This mic fits the bill for the all around studio mic. I purchased it for voice over work but it sounds great on guitars and other acoustic applications. I believe it is the best large diaphram condenser in this price range.

just got it and started recording. Seems clear, however dealing with a high frequency that is a little ringy.. may be because my inputs are high. overall good
