Remember the Essentials
A speed ring is required and not included with this unit. Remember to get the best type of speed ring for the light you are using. If you plan on using it with multiple lights we recommend the adjustable speed ring.
The Video Pro Plus 1 is designed for use with a hot light but may be used with flash as well. With fabric intended for the heat of a continuous light, the Small Video Pro Plus 1 with silver interior is ideal for work in small spaces when medium softening of the light is desired.
The 24x32 inch size is very portable, lightweight, and can be taken on location easily. The "Plus 1" designation of this softbox means the front face of the softbox is removable. Chimera makes different strengths of diffusion material for front face applications. This softbox comes with 1 "Full" diffuser. Optional 1/2 and 1/4 grid cloths allow for more light transmission and also, less softening of the light.
- The Small size is in the middle of the extensive lineup of Chimera softboxes.
- Recessed Front Face helps control light spill and facilitates the attachment of an optional fabric grid.

It's been a great way to light interviews for years. Makes your subjects looks great. I usually use it with either a 650W or 1K light. You'll need a speed ring for every light you plan to put it on. This is my second one of these. The one I bought 4 years ago is still in great shape. But sometimes I've got two shoots going on simultaneously, so I needed a second one.

Our old Chimera softbox had seen better days. After it started smoking because a sagging portion came into direct contact with the bulb, well, we decided to buy a new one. I bought this to keep in my new Arri 750 Plus 3 Light Kit. This makes for an all-purpose, Swiss army kit that is smaller and more mobile than the larger 4-5 light softbank cases. NOTE: The 750s have built-in mounts so no speed rings necessary!

I use the Small Chimera for shooting one or two person interviews on a 1000 watt ARRILITE (as a key lamp) and an X-Small Chimera on a ARRI Plus 650 watt Fresnel (as a side fill). I have several homemade 2000 watt dimmers so I can sculpt the light to my taste. Chimeras work great providing nice soft, evenly diffused light.
