I transport a portable USB hard drive using this case. I've done so for over 10 years now. I bought a second box so that I can transport two drives at the same time. ALthough it's a beat bulky you can't bit the level of protection (shock, water, dust, etc.)
Data is my most important asset.

Comments about Pelican 1040 Micro Case (Clear Black with Colored Lining):
Once you have any sort of equipment in any field of work, you are going to need small containers. why not get the best containers especially if they are affordable for the value they give.
sure its cheaper to put your valuable flash triggers and other electronics in a ziplock bag or a reusable 99c store container. but why buy a Ferrari and leave it unlocked in Hoboken, NJ?
you've probably already reviewed how the Pelican containers function-waterproof, car proof, pressure proof- so just buy them to protect your gear.... end of story!
in my 1040, i comfortably hold:
>Vello FreeWave Flash triggers (receiver + transmitter)
>its cables (3 to 5 inch coiled and straight cables. 3 of them)
>canon 60D shutter release remote
>a little silica gel bag (for moisture management)
>still room for some extra AAA batteries
I found myself needing a second pelican micro case. I took the above contents out and exchanged them with:
Midland 2-way radio accessories;
>a/c wall charger
>2 head sets
>car charger
>2 dedicated midland batteries
I'm definitely returning to B&H to get some more of these micro containers, may be a different colour to break the monotony.

Comments about Pelican 1040 Micro Case (Clear Black with Colored Lining):
I love pretty much all Pelican cases, and this one is no exception. They're all rock solid and help protect all that expensive equipment you need. This case is great for small electronics, batteries, cards, etc.
Love the fact that when you buy one of these you get the feeling that you'll have it for the rest of your life because they're so durable.

I use this case for storing my remote shutter release, lens cleaning tissue and extra camera batteries. I keep it in my vehicle.
I added a 1/2 inch foam pad to keep items from sliding around inside the case.

Comments about Pelican 1040 Micro Case (Clear Black with Colored Lining):
Actually thought I ordered smaller 1020/30 case, but got shipped 1040 instead!Happily found it was perfect if first placing the camera inside a very close fitting EVA molded MP3/camera device case making my Panasonic DMC-ZS3 camera extra-padded/shock protected inside the Pelican's waterproof interior. This left just enough space for two spare camera batteries! So 1040 size turned out to be perfect for travel storing against water/shock damage of my camera.
