My husband bought this three years ago from the [...] when we purchased our home theater. This was the worst investment. The cord shorts out all the time. Tonight it blew up, almost causing my house to burn down. The unit melted the back of the unit and shut everything down.My living room smells of an electrical fire.

Excellent product at a very reasonable price, although I did a minimal amount of research not sure why someone would spend 2 or 3 times what this cost. Like that it has the coax as well, read this is very important to have. My equipment is not high end, so this fits the bill. If I were to have manny $K invested in equipment I would do more research.

I used this to protect my large, expensive flat screen, my cable box, my home theatre surround sound and my blueray player. Watching a movie and BOOM! everything went off! The Monster Power Center did its job...NO damage to any of the components but unfortunately, the Monster was killed in the process. When I called the retailer, he said that my area had been experiencing a lot of power surges and that he had multiple calls that day about the monster products that were protecting their customers products. The best money I ever spent on a surge protector and with the lifetime warranty, a new on is one the way. THANK YOU MONSTER!

This power center is well thought out and comes with a warranty on itself plus all equipment plugged into it, all at an affordable price. What more could you want?
I am using this to completely protect all of my home theater equipment--receiver/amp, DVD player, DVR,satellite receiver and HDTV. There are plenty of AC outlets, more than I am actually using but it is short on coax jacks. We connect to both antenna and satellite via coax so I needed two in and two out, not just a single pair. The solution was to purchase Monster's FlatScreen PowerProtect 200 Surge Protector for Flat-Panel Screens and piggy back it onto the PowerCenter it has 2 AC Outlets and pair of coax jacks too.

The HTS 800 saved all my equipment (tv, cd player, stereo, cable converter, turntable, etc..) during a recent flood into my home entertainment area. The HTS 800 however, did not survive. But it did its job and will be replaced.
