The Rycote Modular Suspension Mount is a complete microphone suspension solution for field audio engineers and boom pole operators. The suspension is also the core to Rycote's modular windshield system, suspending the microphone and windshield using a secure lightweight design. The 4-point suspension features modular components allowing easy replacement and customizing. The mount is equipped with a pistol grip handle and boom pole mount. Two O-rings and suspension bands secure microphone clips. The clips are available in a choice of sizes to custom fit microphones with various diameters.

I use it with the MKH-40 and it seems to be a perfect fit. I can fit the RYCOTE baby ball gag plus fur coat with no problem. The inside distance between the two lyres is 2 inches but it looks like it has one other closer setting available using an allen wrench.
