This Interfit COR753 Heavy-Duty Air Cushioned Light Stand - 12.9' is made of aluminum, and extends to 12.9 feet. It has four sections, with sure-twist section locks.
If you forget to tighten any section while a light is mounted, the light slowly and safely descends, thanks to air-cushioning. This useful feature saves equipment and fingers from harm during busy photo sessions.

I purchased 2 of these stands and they were even better than I expected. They feel very durable and they're nice and light but heavy enough for mounting nice strobes and softboxes/umbrellas. They also have a VERY wide footprint which fantastic. Plus, the air cushioned sections make me feel a lot safer putting my strobes way up high.

This is not a bad stand, but certainly not heavy duty. with a fairly lightweight light on a boom the stand bends.

These are perfect light stands - they're stable even when fully extended, and the stud on the top can be repositioned to be either vertical or horizontal - a nice feature none of my other light stands has. The included standard 5/8" stud has 1/4-20 male threads on one side, 3/8-16 male threads on the other. I use two of these stands with 3/8" stud adapters to support a horizontal bar and 10' vinyl background; with the wide footprint, there's no wobble even at 12-14' high. Great stands!

We use this with a 60 inch softlighter II with 2 or 3 canon 580's with flash triggers at full extension. We have two interfit 7.5' stands and there is no comparision. We wish we had three of these. Largest base diameter out there.
