Since most have given quick reviews, I will tell you what makes this product stand out. It gives the printer a better over all development of fiber based prints. It has the needed kick when you wish to extend developing times for shadows and high lights. Which also adds the extra tool of extending developing times to enhance prints. I use this product when I make final prints since I can better control the print quality through developing time and not just enlarger exposure time.

    Consistent But Can Expire

Develops consistently, but I found particulate pretty quickly after a small lapse in the use of my darkroom.

I have used these products since Star Trek was on the first time. They have always worked well. Silver based photography is almost gone, along with the magic that went with it. I am trying to set up a darkroom and expose my kids to that magic before it is completely gone.

I bought this as an alternative to D-19 for developing Kodak Tri-X super-8 film. The results were fantastic. Dektol is a paper developer, but I was more than please with using it for film.

Dektol is a trusted and tried and true paper developer. It provides all around good print qualities on all types of print papers. It still maintains the same good characteristics as it did over the 30 years I have been using the product.

I've been using dektol for a long time and I am happy with the results with both RC and fiber papers. I can change the time and dilution to suit whatever I may be printing. Great stuff!

Comments about Kodak Dektol Developer (Powder):

Dektol continues to be the standard against which other print developers are judged. I also use Dektol to make a variety of masks. The Kodak product is easy and convenient to mix and is reliable as well as consistent batch to batch.
