This holder is used with the Hasselbald/Imacon 343 scanner.
I personally use this holder for scanning in my 6x17cm and also 6x12cm panoramic transparencies. This holder is amazing invention! Something that is so simple, it's genius. I have been very impressed at the overall quality and craftsmanship of the scanner and it's holders. Not being able to physically see and try something before hand at this price level can sometimes be a gamble. However, my expectations where exceeded this time.
Note: Imacon does not recommend using the 6x18 scanner holder for 6x12cm transparencies and they make a dedicated holder for the 6x12 format. I haven't seen anything wrong at this point (in my limited understanding) using it for those 6x12 size transparencies. Imacon's biggest concern with using the holder in this way is the bending of the film that could occur at the back of the holder during a scan (the open space where the holder does not hold the film). I found if you use a sturdy flat bendable material (such as cardstock) this can help eliminate this issue. All that being said, if you have many 6x12 transparencies that you need to scan, just buy the 6x12 holder it's worth it.
