I used to use this film regularly before I switched to Ektar 100, and I have to say, for what it costs, it's incredible value. I've taken some night landscape shots with this film, and they came out practically looking like paintings. I've gotten very nice colors with this film in all situations. And despite it being 400 ISO film, it still has almost no grain at all! I enlarged a picture I took with it up to 16x20 inches, and the grain was still very small. I'd recommend this to any photographer on a budget who is devoted to film.

I get a lot of classic cameras in questionable shape, and even after having them looked at, I like to put a roll through them just to make sure. For the price this film performs well enough to get an accurate depiction of a camera's overall health. I most likely wouldn't use it to actually shoot with on a day to day basis, but its certainly outperforms its price. And its inexpensive enough to shoot roll after roll of throwaway shots.

Comments about Kodak GC 135-24 Gold Max 400 Color Print Film (ISO-400):
Great all-around film. Best to use in situations where these is suficient lighting. Tryed it at a dark concert and was a bit on the dark side so I'm going to try the 800ISO next. But the film quality is great for such an affordable roll. Developed at the generic photo labs like @ and your local photo-developing-drug-store.

Kodak Gold Max is my "go to" 35mm film. It's a versatile all around film for virtually any situation you find yourself in. I use it mostly in my old Argus. Some days I just grab 2 rolls of this film and my camera to see what I can find.

It is not so easy to buy film any more, so I am
glad that I live in NYC and am able to avail myself of B & H. I have used Kodsk film since I started taking pictures, and I love the color saturation of Kodak Gold Max 400 for when I am shooting in natural light in the fall and winter months.

I don't know much about film, I was born in the era of digital cameras. However, I do know that I'm happy with the pictures this film has produced for me so far. It's also a pretty good value for the price.

I use this Kodak film (and also other ISO400 films in B&W or color) with my Leica bodies, and like their rendering of colors and their tolerance to under- and overexposure. The only problem I have with this one is that it's too short (only 24 images).

I bought 6 rolls of this film for my camera. The first roll broke inside the canister, but the next five worked perfectly.

great for all purpose. good to have around if you dont know what you want to shoot.
i personally prefer using either a low iso or high iso film if i know exactly what i want to shoot, but if i just want to load the camera and take it out - this is a great film to allow shooting in a variety of situations.

I used this a while back, and like all Kodak film I have tried outdoors, if the color saturation is too high, the film becomes granie very easily. As with most Kodak film, the amount of diverse color has to be watched as the film cannot handle it.

For the price, Kodak's Gold max 400 has to be one of the best values in color negative film out there. While I prefer the color of the portra line, the Gold Max has a nice color that is good for most situations. And it is a fraction of the cost!

I normally shoot Portra film, but will use Kodak Gold Max 400 for casual shooting. The 400 is a good all purpose speed. I find the colors are accurate and it scans well in my film scanner. It is not as saturated as the VC Portra film, but is a fine product for the price.
