I never thought I'd need this cable, and thus passed it up when I received my Nikon Coolpix 5600 camera as a gift one year. "I can just use the SD card reader for my PC" I reasoned. However, when my computer started trying to assure me that the SD card was corrupt and needed to be formatted before use, thus cutting me off from the photos I had just taken, things looked grim.Luckily, this cable, though a bit of a gamble, paid off big time. With the SD card planted firmly in the camera, I attached the cable and went to work. Sure enough, I was able to access the photos on the card directly, no hassle needed.There are some things to be said of the negative aspects, however. It's a proprietary version of USB, meaning this particular cord is hard to come by (unless of course you're a frequenter of B&H, and heck, why shouldn't you be?). That's more a nag about the camera, however. The cable came [...] ready to use, and rarin' to go!

I needed the cable cause I was gonna travel the next day and I found out I had lost the one I had. The service was perfect, fast and really helpful. During the trip I used the cable almost everyday to charge the battery and it is still working perfectly.

Many have a battery charger that is preferred for keeping one battery in the camera and one charging, but when on vacation and you are looking to charge while you drive, or charge while you sleep, this is the cable that allows you to plug your camera into a USB port in the car, or a USB wall charger, or a port on your laptop to get that charge in the camera without packing all the extra gear. It also will allow you to download images from a higher capacity SD card to your computer if your card reader does not recognize it and your camera does. This cable is handy enough to have multiples of so that you can be ready for your camera in the car, the suitcase, the laptop bag, and at home too. The price is right. Buy two, they're small!

The Nikon P-6000 camera, I wish:
1) that it would have an option present itself as an external drive instead of only as a camera but that's not the cable's fault.
2) that it would work with an ordinary mini or micro USB instead of only a special Nikon cable.
But it's a good cable.

I never thought I'd need this cable, and thus passed it up when I received my Nikon Coolpix 5600 camera as a gift one year. "I can just use the SD card reader for my PC" I reasoned.
