Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution should be added to the final wash when processing black & white films. It acts as a wetting agent by foaming up and protecting the film from dust and scratches while hanging to dry.

Comments about Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution:
I used Kodak Photo Flo to help unstick a photo which was stuck, for many years, to the glass in a frame. I followed directions that I found on the web to accomplish this task. It took three days of soaking to succeed. The photo was not damaged in any way as a result.

I've never had a problem with the Kodak Photo-Flo. It does what it's supposed to do. I gave it 4 stars because I don't think there's anything exceptional about it - it just is what it is.

Comments about Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution:
I am hopeful that this product does not disappear from commerce now that Kodak is in bankruptcy. The latest headlines were that Kodak is trying to sell 1000 of their patents...I use PhotoFlo for MANY things... cleaning old negatives before scanning, cleaning 78 rpm records, rinsing water spots off old glassware, cleaning headstones before photographing for a national geneaology website, and other odd jobs that require a neutral cleaner. It's a great surfactant with light cleaning properties that minimizes to eliminates water spots. It's perfect for so many tasks!

Comments about Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution:
I have used Photo-Flo for 35 years as a additive to water base artist media. Everything from watercolors to acrylics and temperas. A well kept secret until now. For airbrush Photo-Flo breaks the spray dot to lay colors out with a smoother transition. Wow! You say! Think of the possibilities! I watercolors... crazy cool difference. You heard it here first.

I mixed the recommended amount with de-ionized water and use it for the final rinse of my film. The film dries faster and without spots or runs. The cleanest negs I have done.

Comments about Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution:
It's hard to imagine there is a film photographer who isn't already familiar with Photo-Flo.
Quite simply, it works. It worked in San Diego, where the water is full of dissolved solids, it works in Ohio, where the water is relatively (but not completely) clean.
You could probably get the same results using a liquid laundry detergent . . . but who would take the chance?
Unless you enjoy cleaning up your negatives, you need to use this stuff!

I use this instead of the stabilizer that comes with the c41 press kit and it works perfect. Never get any water spots on my negatives and it also drys very quick. I dont think i would use anything else and all you need is 1 drop and thats all.

Comments about Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution:
I am using the product with a C-41 development kit that I also bought on B&H. Because I was getting a lot of water spots, another photography suggested adding a couple of drops to my stabilizer. Much to my surprise it worked perfectly! And since it only takes a couple of drops per liter of stabilizer, this stuff should last me a while.

Comments about Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution:
**I use Kodak Photo-Flo 200 as a surfactant to:
(1) coat test tubes for ease in over-layering media (such as Percoll) of different densities in separating parasites from liver cells and other tissue cells;
(2) remove the decomposed intestinal parasites of decomposed carnivorous mammals such as mink, fox and coyote.
**Things that are great about it:
Photo-Flo coated test tubes prevent "bombing" (i.e., mixing of the upper-layer lighter density medium with the surface of a lower-layer, slightly heavier density medium) thus making more efficient removal of parasites on the surface of the lower layer.
Because of the inner coating of dried Photo-Flo the upper-layer overlays the lower-layer absolutely smoothly when allowed to run down the inner wall of the test tube.
A Photo-Flo solution prevents decomposed parasites from "clumping" together when the host intestine and parasites have undergone some decomposition. This is particularly important because a "clump" of small parasites can consist of two or more species and forcefully separating them from a clump with utensils can result in the soft, fragile bodies of the decomposed parasites being torn apart thus making identification difficult.
**Things that aren't so great about Photo-Flo:
Photo-Flo on its own can not be kept for any length of time, even with refrigeration (~ 4C), as it is a solution fertile for growth of fungi. Accordingly, to improve shelf life Photo-Flo solutions must be made up with a fungicide such as 0.02% sodium azide.

Comments about Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution:
While I have been using Photo-Flo since the 1960s to improve the drying of films, I did not buy it for that purpose this time. It also is excellent for the application of decals and making "wet water" to assist in the flow of glue when building model railroad scenes.

Use this. I used it for c41, mixed it in my stabilizer solution. Stopped using squeegee. No more scratches! If it leaves residue you can rinse it off.
