When I purchased my HVX-200 it came with a CGR-D54 LI battery, I was convinced that I would not even use it since I have a bunch of Anton Bauer Dionic 90's. My thought was that I would just buy an adapter and use them to save money.
The more that I used the Panasonic battery that came with the camera, the more I realized that it was pro quality, it charged quickly and often could power my camera for the whole shoot. Panasonic was also really thinking when they designed the P2 store to use the same battery as well- I now have two and they are all that I need for 90% of my shoots.
I used the Dionics as back-up!

I have a Panasonic HVX200 and so I bought this as an extra battery.
So far, I have only used my camera with MiniDV tapes and the battery life seems to be about 4-5hours.
Hopefully using P2 cards will extend the life of the battery.
It's a small and stylish battery that fits nicely in a camera bag.
Very simple to use.
Charging this takes a couple of hours.
Have not used any other brands yet, so I can't compare this with others, but so far it seems to be a pretty solid battery.

This is a genuine Panasonic battery, designed to work with Panasonic's MiniDV camcorders. I use it to power my AG-HVX200 and it provides about 7 hours of operation. Sure, you can find cheaper battery replacements, but I trust Panasonic and I won't use substitutes.

Although there are less expensive compatible versions out there, I somehow felt more comfortable going with the OEM product with the recent purchase of my HPX250. Perhaps next time I'll try a compatible version.

Purchased 5 of these from B&H five months ago (12.23.11). 1 of the 5 doesn't work at all anymore. 2 of the 5 batteries will not work anymore on any of the 3 Panasonic cameras we have (DVX100, HVX200, HPX170). Nor will they charge on the Panasonic chargers. They will charge on a Dolgin charger though and they work just fine on our Marshall monitor that has a Panasonic battery back. I thought I was avoiding these types of problems by paying top dollar for genuine Panasonic product, but maybe it's not worth it and I'll have to reconsider buying Pearstone or similar. Anybody else have similar issues?

This is a great battery and lasts long enough for a shoot that may last all day. I've used it for 3 different shoots this past week and it's held up great. I have 4 other older batteries that just aren't holding charges, so this has been great.
