Ideal for generating the tight, visceral bass that is so vital to the home theater experience, the YSTSW315 10-inch, Performance Series, Powered Subwoofer will complement any system configuration. In conjunction with smaller, bookshelf-type speakers, it extends the system capability for true full-range frequency response.
With large, floor-standing speakers, a subwoofer helps shoulder the burden of reproducing low-frequency information. Port-tuned and slot loaded, it utilizes long-throw woofers and powerful built-in amplifiers for room shaking reproduction, crushing power and quick, tight bass. Standard features include high and low level inputs, variable level and frequency controls, phase control and auto on/off sensing.

Comments about Yamaha YST-SW315 10" 250 Watts Powered Subwoofer:
I purchased this sub in an exchange for the infinity wireless 12in sub in which didn't sound right. As soon as I plugged this 10in sub in I was really impressed with its punch. I'm from the old school so I figured the bigger the better when I was returning the 12in infinity an contemplating this 10in, but I'm truely satisfied with this 10in yamaha. I have a Harmon Kardon 12in in my family room and this yamaha puts out just as much boom as my Harmon-Kardon. The set-up was really simple, just plug it up and hook=up your subwoofer plug an put in a action movie or a cd an sit back to listen to the rumble of this sub. The only 1 didnt give this 5stars is because I believe the wireless kit should be included with this unit-but this unit sounds great.
