Comments about Matthews Mini Matthellini Clamp:

This is a tool... albeit an over-priced tool... it's a tool none-the-less. Anyone who's familiar with the video industry knows the Matthellini clamp very well. This is a mini-version (obviously)... but here are some meaningful specs, since Matthews doesn't seem to offer this info.

This weighs 7.4 oz, or 210 grams and measures 5 and 5/8" from end to end. The knurled rod you see is 3/8" diameter vs. the normal 5/8" diameter which is standard with "normal" grip gear.

The nice thing about this clamp is that it's 100% metal construction. The mini-grip head is plastic, but this? ALL METAL... (with rubber grip padding in the jaws)... so... it's nice, and seems to be very strong. You can even spin the lock up and down with a flick... to open and close the jaw, just like a standard sized Matthellini.

I expect this to come in the most handy with small rigging, like you'd do with a GoPro or an LED light... or holding a photography boom... i.e. lower loads than a regular clamp.

Very well made. Does the job for light-duty work. The rubber grip on the inside of the clamp is much appreciated. Quality product!

Matthews is the best. This little clamp is solidly built and works wonders. I use it to boom a small LED backlight. Excellent!

Nifty little clamp for a small backlight, to help hold a portable greenscreen, shotgun mic - most handy of clamps. Love it!

Comments about Matthews Mini Matthellini Clamp:

I use the Mini Matthellini Clamp to hang a dynalite pack from my boom stand -- Attach a Super clamp to the boom stand, then a 5/8 pin to the Super clamp, a grip head onto the 5/8 pin and the Mini Matthellini Clamp into the grip head...

The Mini Matthellini Clamp hangs straight down and the V-shape of the Mini Matthellini Clamp holds the Dynalite pack handle perfectly., keeps the cords from dragging on the ground and the pack hangs perfectly straight instead of at an angle (if you use a J-hook on a Super clamp you can't get the Dynalite pack far enough away to hang straight down).

Anyway, really good quality clamp, I love it.

Comments about Matthews Mini Matthellini Clamp:

I've been using the cardellini clamps for years, but these Mathellini clamps are of very good quality and were 20% less expensive than the "name brand". Right now, they're holding up some little Arri Photolights in the university A/V Room and working like a champ.
