The Swarovski DCA Digiscoping Adapter allows you to digiscope with your Swarovski spotting scope, using either a digital point and shoot camera with a 28mm, 37mm, 43mm or 52mm filter specification or an SLR camera and a 30-50mm lens with 52mm filters. In both cases, you capture images through the spotting scope's eyepiece. In addition to the specified filter sizes, you can also use step-up rings and even step-down rings to adapt your lens' filter size to 28/37/43/52mm.
All ventures in the world of digiscoping require the use of a sturdy tripod, first and foremost. Logical choices for a tripod/head combination are indicated here as accessories, with an ascending order in price & support. You must take great care to keep vibrations during exposure to an absolute minimum. Employing a cable release, electronic release or remote control for tripping the shutter is absolutely necessary. And while it is not necessary per se, a mounting bracket will do wonders to reduce vibrations of your rig.

Comments about Swarovski DCA Digiscoping Adapter:
Had this for several years and was not happy with it. My SLR's were too heavy to work properly and I was unable to adapt it to a light weight pocket digital camera since the newer cameras do not have filter threads. But, great news! The very inexpensive Bower Conversion adapter mated with my Nikon P7000 digital camera and the DCA adapater are a great combination and I am really enjoying digiscoping now. A great combination. I rate it only 4 of 5 because it seems expensive for what you get.

Comments about Swarovski DCA Digiscoping Adapter:
I'm using this DCA to attach my Swarovski STS65 spotting scope with 20X-60X eyepiece, to my Canon D10 SLR ( it also works for D20, 30, 40, 50 and for some point and shoot cameras) with 50mm. f 1.8 lens. The older 50mm lens with metal mount provides more stability to the total set-up.
This DCA works very well to combine zoom capability of the spotting scope with 20X-60X eyepiece with your digital camera for photographing wildlife, at a moderate price. I would recommend this to anyone, not able to invest thousands in individual lens, but still wants professional results.
Please note that focusing and light metering is manual with this system. And contrary to the info provided, it can and is being used with an SLR camera. A tripod is mandatory because of the magnification, and I'm still working on a balance rail which will appropriately distribute the weight of this set-up.
