The Lowel Elemental Kit, LB-35 Soft Case is based on two of Lowel's most popular light fixtures. Compact, rugged and versatile, the broad-throw Tota-light can be used with its umbrella or gel frame and diffusion as a soft key light, fill light, or backlight. With its adjustable reflectors, it can be a smooth and even background light, or point it at the ceiling to raise the ambient (base) light level of a room. Tota-lights are also widely used for photographic copy work. This kit is equipped for use with 120V AC.

The wide focusing range of the Omni-light makes it a flexible key light or backlight. Add diffusion or an umbrella, and it's a soft fill source. Available with a host of accessories and built for heavy-duty long life, the popular Omni is the perfect companion to the Tota.

When fitted with an EMD 750W bulb, the Tota-light will emit a beam of 41 footcandles with the barndoors at normal position, and 34 footcandles with the barndoors at 180° position, from a distance of 10 ft (3 m).

When fitted with an FTK 500W bulb and standard reflector, each Omni-light will emit a beam of 75 footcandles at full flood and 475 footcandles at full spot, from a distance of 10 ft (3 m).

Multi-Wattage, Multi-Voltage
Although this kit comes equipped for 120V AC, it can operate at 220-240V AC with the appropriate bulbs and plug adapters (available separately)

Comments about Lowel Elemental Kit, LB-35 Soft Case:

Before purchasing this kit I bought the Genaray SpectroLED 2-light kit. I was fairly unimpressed by those lights. These lights blow them out of the water. They are bright, powerful, versatile lights, and they come with just about everything you need to light a scene/interview. For small indie productions or professional videography work they are perfect. They do get extremely hot, so wear gloves!

Comments about Lowel Elemental Kit, LB-35 Soft Case:

Bought this to shoot a series of interviews. The lights themselves are fantastic: excellent build quality and very bright. They obviously get very hot, which is to be expected. The case is perfect - I prefer it to the hard case as its easier to carry.

Overall I believe this kit is the best value from the lower end of the Lowel product offerings. Tried Lowel DV Core 250 Kit with the GO-85 Case and was very disappointed with the amount of light and weight of the case. I've been able to achieve a soft enough light with the Tota using the reflective umbrella that I don't miss the softbox, which is the only apparent benefit of the Core kit.
