This is a Lowel DV Creator 55, LB-35 Case four-light kit. It features one of each of the most popular fixtures in the Lowel line, and plenty of light modification accessories for any lighting scheme. This kit includes an LB-30 Soft Kit Case.

The Rifa-lite EX 55 is a self-contained, 21 x 21", 500W, collapsible, tungsten/halogen softlight that uses the unique umbrella-like Rifa design allowing set-up in 60 seconds or less. It has a changeable socket to allow use of other types of bulbs, including fluorescent. Bathe almost anything in luxurious soft light, from talking heads to table-top stills. Its quick-change power cord easily converts for use with professional battery belts, allowing it to work at 12V, 14V and 30V DC in addition to 120V and 230VAC. It's the perfect complement to today's compact, light-sensitive, digital cameras and film stocks.

With its high intensity #2 reflector and prismatic glass, the tiny focusable Pro-light is more efficient than a Fresnel of equal wattage, yet it gives an exquisite even light, with Fresnel-like shadow quality. It can be used as a low-level key or accent light, fill light (with diffusion), or backlight.

The wide focusing range of the Omni-light makes it a flexible key or backlight. Add diffusion or an umbrella, and it's a soft fill source.

Compact, rugged and versatile, the broad-throw Tota-light can be used with its umbrella or gel frame and diffusion as a soft key, fill, or backlight. With its adjustable reflectors, it can be a smooth and even background light, or point it at the ceiling to raise the ambient (base) light level of a room. Tota-lights are also widely used for photographic copy work.

The Rifa EX accepts many different wattages and types of bulbs, with appropriate socket adapter, available separately
The Pro-light's versatility can be increased by adding a DC adapter cable and swapping its bulb for use as a camera-top fixture
Use the included light modification devices to alter the color, intensity, quality and shape of the light
The LB-35 soft kit case holds everything, including the light stands, for storage and transport

This kit has got a little of everything. I work in the promotions department for a local television station and this kit is perfect for quick set up and portability. Love having the shoulder strap on the bag. Would recommend picking up some dimmers, filters, and clips.

Comments about Lowel DV Creator 55, LB-30 Case:

This is a great lighting kit. We had used these lights a few years ago while with another company and they are great.

For amateurs and even some smaller companies, this may be a big expense but good quality lighting is just as important as a good camera and good audio.

The softbox is bright and can be used in almost any situation.

Don't settle with a smaller kit. This kit contains the basic minimum that you need to get the job done.

Comments about Lowel DV Creator 55, LB-30 Case:

I needed lights for a video shoot. Much of this video required use of a green screen, so I needed substantial illumination on the background as well as the subject. I researched lights extensively and settled on this kit due to it's quality, price, flexibility, and reputation of the manufacturer. I had high expectations, and was not disappointed.

Comments about Lowel DV Creator 55, LB-30 Case:

Got this kit to be flexibile with a light weight set that could be easily transported. I like having four different lights. Gives me more opportunites for lighting. I live in Tokyo, so I wanted a bag that could be carried and taken on the train. The softbag works fine for this. ( I use a trolley on the train). I use the kit for interviews with the softbox and the brella for key/fill and the spot for backlight. The extra spot can be used for background. Sometimes I only bring three of the lamps. The screw that holds the brella to the tota is weak and broke. I fixed it myself. The supplied lamps are a little low in light. I think I will get a set of higher wattage lamps. These are very hot lamps, but it is not a problem. The best thing about this set is the small size. Tota with brellla plus the "umbrella" style softbox really roll up nicely in the bag. The spots are really compact too.

Comments about Lowel DV Creator 55, LB-30 Case:

While this kit doesn't have everything, it's got what most people need when they're starting up their own video production business or if they're looking for a solid yet basic light kit. It's very easy to set up and break down, and you can stuff it all into the rugged carrying case when you're between jobs.

I've worked with Lowel products for a few years now and the investment is worth it! These things can take a beating and still perform well. Proper lighting is often one of the overlooked aspects of video production, but it's nearly as important as your camera.

These lights run very HOT, so be mindful and careful of yourself and your surroundings. Don't touch the bulbs with your bare hands, and make sure you have a good power strip and extension cord. All in all, these lights are WORLDS better than the kit I used to work with- which consisted of 100watt flood lamps from the hardware store.
