I use tri-x through a Leica M6 and Nikon F2. I develop in D76. The film has wonderful qualities in terms of grain structure but also good resolving power. I use it to shoot street photos and portraits. I have made 16x20 enlargements from this film and it holds up great! Love this film and always keep some handy.

I have given myself a personal project to take pictures of the NYC bridges in black and white. Hopefully it will turn out great. I don't know how it is going to look like. Hopefully, it will bring out the classic look of the early days of photography. This will look great for my portfolio. I heard processing black and white films is a little more expensive than color film. I have no rating as of yet. But, I know I could trust Kodak since they have been in business for years. Right now, their color film is cheaper than Fuji when it comes to professional color films.

Tri-X is an iconic medium speed film. Good contrast. It pushes well, almost to well. I have trouble trying to make it grainy. For most people, that's a big plus. It's just the best everyday black and white film.

I tried Tri-X as my first black and white film, ever. My next purchase will be a bulk format of this same film. At the moment, I'm trying out a lesser grade film. But after my series of experiments with that, I am sure to get Tri-X again. "I shall return!"

I started shooting TMax 100 when I first started photography and printing in the darkroom. I used this because I wanted to most visually perfect photos and the low grain the was touted.

Now, film is known for its grain and if you're shooting 35mm, you're probably yearning for the grain. It's also pretty easy to print from this film. I've exposed it a number of times as ISO 800 and it's been great.

This is great film and provides a classic look that cannot be found anywhere else. This film is very easy to shoot and process and is very forgiving. This can be pushed to 800 with no problem; I have not pushed any further but would probably be no problem. This film is great for learning and provides great results.

Comments about Kodak Professional Tri-X 400 Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures):

Is a fine film, no questions about it, to me it has the look of pictures printed in newspapers and mag. 30 to 40 years ago, not saying this is a bad thing. The grain is pretty prominent specially in summer sky areas, I'm sorry but I can get sharper images and finer grain with Tmax 400. The scanning stage is also very difficult with this film because the celluloid dries very curly.
Frankly I can't understand why people keep buying Tri X after the birth of Tmax, it doesn't even make economical sense. Just my two cents, I know many of you will disagree.
Shot and developed at box speed in D-76.

This is a good film to use for all around purpose. I usually use it at a pushed ISO (3200-6400) to use in dance studio lighting. Great pictures come out of it.
