The Countryman B3 Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature lavalier microphone for general public speaking, interviews, stage performances, video and film shoots, houses-of-worship applications and much more.
The capsule measures 0.2" in diameter and is resistant to moisture which allows for placement in hair and on bare skin. In addition, its omnidirectional polar pattern minimizes handling noise, wind noise and plosives (popping).
A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is black and features a Mini 1/8" (3.5mm) Locking for Sennheiser wireless transmitters.
- Miniature Unobtrusive Capsule
- The miniature capsule measures only 0.2" (5.08mm) in diameter. The B3 is available in various colors that will virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin. This version B3 is black and more information on which color suits you best, can be found on the Countryman support page.
- Moisture Resistant Frequency Caps
- Three frequency response altering caps provide flat, bright and very bright high-frequency enhancement. In addition the caps are resistant to moisture caused by perspiration, make-up, humidity, etc.
- Omnidirectional Polar Pattern
- The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise.
- Sensitivity Optimized for General Speaking Applications
- The B3 is available in two sensitivity response specifications. This version is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

I'm a professional video guy but not a professional audio guy. I was having issues trying to hide big ole mics that probably shouldn't be hidden (due to size and causing clothing noise because of that). A professional audio friend of mine recommended this mic and I'm so happy that I bought it. Easy to hide, beautiful sound. I couldn't be happier. I bought this to use with my Sennheiser G3 wireless system. I would buy this mic again without a second thought.

I got this mic to complement my Senheiser G3 Kit I use mostly as backup or when doing interviews without a soundperson. This mic is a massive improvement over the included lav in my Senheiser G3 kit. The far tighter low end and clarity even when hidden under clothing with the optional high frequency caps. I also notice considerable improvement in handling noise which is always an important consideration with lav's.

I purchased the B3 to replace our Sennheiser G3 mics. The Sennheisers are decent lavs, but there is just no comparison to the Countryman B3! The B3 captures voice quality perfectly, and seems to limit room noise – all in all, very pleasant sound quality.
Love the tiny form factor - they are so easy to hide. Plus, the clips are much more user friendly than others I've used.
Based on the performance and sound this mic delivers, it's a great value. Build quality is excellent; as is the case the unit comes packaged in.

I've used the B3 on several documentary interview shoots in a variety of conditions and it blows away the stock Sennheiser G3 lav mic. It handles clothing rustle a bit better and isolates background noise a LOT better. The highs are crisp and the lows aren't muffled.There are better mics out there, but bang for the buck in improving the production value of my films -- this can't be beat.

Awesome lav mic. Huge step up from any stock lav like the senn ME2 or sonys. Easy to hide and have a nice full range and flat frequency response. As a bonus you get 2 extra mic heads to boost the highs which can really help get through tough materials or accentuate someones voice. You get 2 awesome tie clips that are easy to use and can give you an extra point for your tension loop on your wire.

Lavalier microphones are one of the most fragile but important components to a wireless systems, Countryman brings durability, packaging and beautiful sound to your picture. Excellent vocal response for speech and a relatively high SPL and adjustable caps for frequency response. I have yet to come by a better lavaliere product to use on location when hiding microphones on actors. Only tip would to be invest in the specialized windscreen caps made for the B3. It is a smaller head then say a Sennheisher/Pearstone ME3 type microphone but the screen CAN be taped on in a pinch.

Where to start? Size: The B3 is small enough to be inconspicuous as a lapel mic, and can be hidden in a tie knot or hair. Sound: silky, picks up voices wonderfully without dropping all the room noise. Reliability: the cord is well built, shrouded in a material slick enough to minimize noise.
The only challenge I've had has been popping the cap off the top to use one of the two alternates.
All in all, it's manufactured, engineered and packaged wonderfully.
