This compact, lightweight ballhead will support up to a lightweight to medium SLR system. The head features an easy to use single-lever release that locks the camera into place with one single action. Differing itself from many inexpensive ball heads on the market, the base of this head can rotate in addition to the ball movement. This makes horizontal movement of the camera much faster and easier.

Coupled with the GORILLAPOD SLR ZOOM TRIPOD the ballhead is nice companion to get just the shot I am looking for in, whether inside or outdoors. It has a very sturdy mount and moves easily from spot to spot.
It would be nice to have a quick release option for removing the camera.

Comments about Slik SBH-120 Compact Ballhead 120:
I bought this ballhead to go on a monopod. It is just the right size for an SLR with wide angle or short telephoto lens. Adding the ballhead really increases the versatility of a monopod and carrying the monopod is a lot easier than toting around a heavy tripod. The single lever action locks both the ball and the rotation making quick setups a snap. The ball works smoothly and the clamp is secure. Does what it is supposed to do without breaking the bank

I purchased this for use with my Slik EZ Pod Monopod and Canon Digital Rebel XT w/ 28-135mm lens. The monopod allowed tilting in only one direction, the ballhead allows tilting in two directions with just one adjustment. The SBH-120 appears to be a good compromise between sturdiness and weight.

Comments about Slik SBH-120 Compact Ballhead 120:
This ballhead has just the right amount of resistance to allow minute adjustments. Easily tightens and loosens when needed.
Comments about Slik SBH-120 Compact Ballhead 120:
I purchased this ball head as a bundle with a GorillaPod SLR Zoom tripod, so that I could try panoramas while traveling. The ball head does not have a separate pan lock, which makes it worthless for this purpose. The description of the bundle was not extensive enough to make this clear. I should have done more research!

Comments about Slik SBH-120 Compact Ballhead 120:
I've purchased this ballhead as a part of a kit with Gorillapod SLR Zoom. It's a small and lightweight ball head that works excellent with a small tripod like a Gorillapod. Lacks a small built-in level, but it does not make a difference when using a Gorillapod.

Comments about Slik SBH-120 Compact Ballhead 120:
This little gadget is really neat and makes the use of the SLR Gorillapod so much easier to focus and move the camera. Also well made. I was looking for something like this and B&H assisted in my search for the right ball head for a regular SLR. Price was reasonable too!!!
Comments about Slik SBH-120 Compact Ballhead 120:
A ballhead unit is an indespensable item when mounting a camera on a tripod, Gorillapod or a monopod, particularily one that allows the camera to be rotated 90 degrees to the horizontal or vertical position. The Slik version is well built and positively locks the camera into position.

Comments about Slik SBH-120 Compact Ballhead 120:
Good value for the price. Attached easily to my Slik Pro 330 tripod. Does everything I need in a ballhead. In windy conditions I would probably need a heavier and more sturdy tripod system. I normally use a monopod in my wildlife and nature photography.
