International Orders*The SC-28 provides full TTL control for Nikon Speedlites when used off camera with Nikon SLR cameras which have the TTL hot flash shoe. Approximately 9' (3 m) long & coiled, it permits easy use of flash when the camera is mounted upon a bracket.
This cord replaces the SC-17. Improvements on the SC-28 over the SC-17 are: Posi-Lock (an improved locking switch) and the cord on the camera shoe that now connects parallel to the camera.

Some good friends recently asked me to shoot their wedding. That meant taking the camera hand-held for most of the frames. I wanted a little more dramatic lighting than you get shooting straight ahead with the flash mounted on the camera. And besides I needed to be able to quickly switch from landscape to portrait framing as needed. Having the flash on this nifty, spring-coiled cord made that easy. I was able to hold the flash head high and wide to bring up a little shadow when I needed it. Handy product to have in the old kit bag.

I've only had it for a couple weeks, but used it for the first time at a wedding. It seems very well built and solid. The flash clicks into place nicely, no stickiness (or looseness). It clicks into the hot-shoe of my camera perfectly. Again, fits like a glove. Of course, for $ , it better be. I did have a cheaper one that worked pretty well. It wasn't nearly as solid feeling as this, but then again, it worked just as well until I lost it.I give it 4 stars because I haven't actually had it long enough to judge it otherwise. But, I suspect it will last me as long as i don't lose it.

Very well built, and the coiled configuration makes for easy storage in your "Go Bag" for field use when needed. Solid for studio set-up and use. Very versatile piece of equipment.

Does what it is meant to: allows you to take a small on-camera flash off-camera. The coils are a bit tight and it is hard to get a whole lot of range out of it, but it just barely works for side-lighting portraits. It was quite a stretch (literally) to use with an 85mm lens, and I couldn't quite get as much distance as I wanted... perhaps a short focal length would have made the situation a tad more workable. You can also use the cord on-camera, stacking the two endpoints (with velco and some hairbands) to allow some side-to-side movement on-camera with an sb-400, which normally can only be pointed straight-ahead.
"Known by the state of California to contain lead", which is a huge put-off for me.

I am using this product to trigger a SB-900 to photograph birds in my backyard. Works great and the flash always triggers. The lock mechanism is tight and holds the remote in the hot shoe firmly.

I have tried third party brand (bought at BH too) before buying the orignial Nikon SC-28. But with the third party brand, with the flash in horizontal position, there was a slack an some pins didn't touch. The flash only worked in vertical position. Only the nikon brand works in horizontal and vertical position

The SC-28 TTL Remote Cord is much better than the SC-17. I noticed the differance as soon as I connected it to my Digital SLR. The first shot I noticed my flash was brighter and it recycles much faster than before. I wish I had purchesed this product much sooner.Great job Nikon

Necessary for use with off camera use of flash. Relatively inexpensive. No sense taking chances with off-brand product. Made in Japan.

This product replaced my SC-17 cord and it works like a champ. It is built much sturdier and locks on to the hotshoe much easier as well. It kept me firing all day and through the night. I am very happy and impressed.

This is the least expensive way I could find to use my speedlight off-camera. It's not as convenient as if it were wireless, but I knew that before I bought it. It will definitely serve my purposes for the time being!

Great product. The cord is easy to use and works great. It is long enough to be used at a good distance away, but the coiled design makes sure it doesn't get tangled up in what you are doing.

Easy to use at 5 or 6 feet. I have had to stretch it out a lot to relieve the tension of the cord to get that far. Needs to be more relaxed.
