This table-top tripod has been available from Leica for many years. It is extremely sturdy and compact - the legs rotate together to make it flat for storage. This feature allows this tripod to fit places where standard tripods do not. It has a standard 1/4-20" top screw thread. Leica recommends their #14110 ballhead for it.

Comments about Leica Table Tripod:
Great with a small ball head for balancing against the chest for added stability on some shots, and also on a table.

Comments about Leica Table Tripod:
It is very handy and versatile,if you combine it with ball and socket heads (eg.Leica 14110).You can hold steadily against your chest,,fence, wall or pillar. It can let your camera at low level on the ground ,and it will create a fantastic perspective veiw. Most suitable for Leica M and compact Digital Cameras and very convenient for a trip with light gears.

Comments about Leica Table Tripod:
Very very sturdy and works well with the Leica Ball Head. It's not as quick to deploy as a tripod with legs at a fixed angle that fan out from the center but you do gain better positioning flexibility if you need to use it some place where even spreading the legs isn't practical. It will last a lifetime. Expensive, especially when you add the ball head, but it's really a great set up. I am very happy with it. I am using it with a Leica X1.

Comments about Leica Table Tripod:
Simple and elegant design, the three legs can be rotated to many possible positions with an easy twist of the wing nut on the bottom. Coupled with a RRS BH-25 ballhead, it's perfect for those times when lugging a full size tripod is impractical.

Comments about Leica Table Tripod:
I use this tripod, together with Leica's Ballhead, as a chest pod for my Nikon D90 and Nikkor 18-200 lens. I press the three legs against my chest and tilt the camera to my eye. My body acts kind of like a monopod, giving me stability for available light images. This Leica Tripod and Ballhead have served me for over thirty years. Yet I see their coming demise: the new CMOS sensors that record at ISO 6400 and higher. This may make tripods and even image stabilization obsolete for most situations.

Comments about Leica Table Tripod:
Have my Markins M10 w/ RRS Clamp and 40D w/ 24-70mm F2.8 mounted on this little tripod. The tripod can handle this weight pretty easily. Not sure what the max load on this tripod is but it seems pretty rock solid with the equipment I have.
A little pricey, but for peace of mind, it's worth it.
Comments about Leica Table Tripod:
I bought this tripod after I returned Chinese Giottos that just could not support the weight of D200.I used it with D200 and heavy F2.8 70-200 AFS VR and F2.8 AFS 28-70 Nikkors. Absolutely perfect for my intended use on coffee tables during travels. I could not believe that it would work so well with heavy load till I tried.I also bought a Really Right Stuff ball head BH-25 that makes the entire setup very stable. I would not use the tripod without the ball head so. Tripod + ballhead weights close to nothing and will fit in any camera bag pocket. I was looking for something light, small and stable. Amazingly I found it. Bravo Leica + RRS!!!
Previous Equivalent Items Owned: I tried Giottos that was not usable.
Items I Recommend: Really Right Stuff ball head BH-25
