Comments about Daiwa / Slik DST-1 Lightweight 2-Stage Tripod System:
Bought 6 for a TV Production class and 3 have broken. Two have had legs fall off while opening and the third has a broken release plate switch. I can't stress enough the poor quality of the design.

I've had two DST-1's. Both heads have broken under normal use. Do not plan on using in freezing weather. The head locks up. We used them as lightweight carry-on tripods.
