The Beyerdynamic NR. 216 3/8" A-5/8"I is an adaptor for 3/8" outer and 5/8" inner microphone threads. The thread size of microphone clips and stands will often vary. This adaptor will enable you to connect microphone equipment with 5/8" male prongs to 3/8" female sockets.

This is great for me because I do sound for film and television and have a heavy investment in my microphones and zeppelins and shock mounts. This allows me to use the gear I have on a studio mic stand when I'm doing an interview or if I want to record music.
