Let me start by saying that I love music. The minidisc is the best recording device that I've ever owned. I use my minidisc like a DVR for my favorite radio / xm/ anything you can think of. The sound is GREAT!

The sony gold premium discs seem to last forever. I have ones I've literally played thousands of times and they still sound great. The case and labeling are nice, but a mini jewel case style would be nicer. HHB makes a even tougher minidisc but it is harder to find. It is rated for millions of rewrites. Both sound great, but HHB case isn't as nice. I drive a truck and minidiscs are the way to go..I've killed several ipods and gave up on them..they can't take the vibration..but my sony minidisc recorder/player just shrugs off the abuse, I record off the radio, live concerts, streaming on line..my minidisc is so versatile.
