        Definite Green Shift

Comments about Lowel Dichroic Filter ONLY for Pro, i-Light:

It does yield slightly better color reproduction & saturation compared to the unfiltered I-light after manually white balancing for each.

Bad part is, it is no where near daylight-balanced because it has a very noticeable green shift that makes it impossible to mix with daylight. When manually white-balancing the camera with and without the dichroic filter, daylight is either purple or blue, respectively.

Not worth the full stop of light it takes or the price paid.

Comments about Lowel Dichroic Filter ONLY for Pro, i-Light:

I was really hoping this would be a very simple way to convert my Lowel Pro lights to daylight so I could use them with Litepanels. The Lowel Pro lights are incredibly convenient, and are a beautiful tungsten color without gels. Unfortunately, this filter casts a very pronounced blue/cyan color that is nothing at all like the roughly 5600K I was hoping for, so I will have to return this. The filter holder is truly convenient, though, and I hope they find a way to correct these, because it is so much easier than dealing with gels for daylight conversion.

These almost have a permanent place on my Lowel Pro-light. I shoot mixed lighting environments all the time and as a hairlight to compliment my Kinoflo, these filters are great as a quick solution. The light from this filter tends to look a little on the green side, but it looks natural in my camera.

This would save me from gelling my Pro-light, and I really wanted it to work. The problem was that the light was not even close to 5500K when I used it with a tungsten lamp. I must say it was beautifully made. I tried it on two Pro-lights just to make certain.

This filter is used with the Prolight. You need the holder but it works well if you're using the light in mixed daylight.
