I didn't quite know what to expect when I bought these. I had never used frost gels before, so I didn't know how much diffusion I was going to get. They only add a slight amount of diffusion to a light. It's not like using a softbox or umbrella, it just changes the look slightly. I placed two on a 300 watt Britek lamp and managed to melt them together in one corner. Thankfully after cooling, they came apart and are still useful, though a bit singed.

Though they seemed to be a good idea, when using them in our spot lights to "soften" the spot, all it did was reflect the light all over the room, instead of on the stage.

I just bought some work lights from the hardware store to light a shoot. However the lights were too strong and blinded the subjects. I easily attached the gels to the lights with 2-4 CPs. These frost gels were a great way to defuse the light also helped spread out the light more evenly throughout the space. I also used them to help light a deck party I threw this halloween! Never got hot all night! Great buy!

These gels are always great to have on hand. We use them to reduce the heat from the lights on stage. The only thing isn't so great is that there is some light that deflects out the sides of the can.
