Nikon's Action Extreme series offer lots of features that will be appreciated by those who enjoy the view provided by classically-styled porro prism units. Following the enormously popular Action series, Nikon has made significant improvements. The group still retains the high-refraction prisms with their wide viewing fields, and every model has a tripod adapter threading for easy extended glassing from a stationary position. The 16x50 Action model has a tripod adapter for easy extended glassing from a stationary position. It is ideally suited to tripod use for fully employing its awesome power, with performance in twilight which is commendable. An ideal binocular for big game hunters.
High-powered binoculars are difficult to hold steady by hand; a monopod(and a tripod adapter if not included with the binocular) with an incorporated fluid pan/tilt head or with such a head attached between the monopod and the binocular is highly recommended.
All of Nikon's binocular line is backed up by the "No-Fault" lifetime warranty. Regardless of what happens to your binoculars-even of your own negligence-Nikon will repair or replace (at their option) your binocular for just $10 plus the return shipping costs.
Note! Covered by Nikon's 25-year no-fault repair/replacement policy

Comments about Nikon 16x50 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
I use the 16x50 Action binocs for animal spotting in conjunction with my photography work. I bought them to have the ability to "reach out and touch" the animals at a distance and they do this job VERY well. SOlid build by what I can see. Rubber coated. NIce case but no carry strap for the case. Tripod mount works fine and you WILL need it to steady the view. These binocs are powerful and hand holding for a solid steady image is next to impossible if what you are viewing is far off. Step down 1 perhaps for better hand hold viewing. BUT, if you want to get out to great distances,(you should see the moon through these things!) THIS IS THE PAIR FOR YOU. I think for the quality I am getting, the price point is fair. I give this product 5 stars as for what I bought it for, it functions flawlessly. With the lifetime warrenty should ANYTHING go wrong with it, why NOT get it?

I purchased these for bird and night sky observing. Yes, they are heavy, but the included tripod adapter takes care of that problem. I can see the Orion nebule with no problem with these binoculars.

Excellent for long range viewing and low light situations, also very good for astronomy - the tripod adapter is great! We use for birding from the house where we can steady the binoculars by propping our arms on the table.

Comments about Nikon 16x50 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
I mainly use it for hunting or when I am sighting in a new rifle and it is just the right power for 200 yards.
The one complaint i have is that there is no microfiber towel that comes with it... For the money you spend you would think that the towel to clean the lenses would be included.

Comments about Nikon 16x50 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
After having purchased the 7x35 binoculars from the same series for birdwatching, and being very impressed with their quality, I decided to also try the binoculars with the highest magnification in this series, the 16x50. The large magnification is a good choice to observe things that are far away and not fast moving, e.g. wildlife, or also (distant) plane spotting, or watching ships. A 16x magnification results of course in a much smaller field of view, and image quality, although very good, is not quite as good as for the 7x35. Part of this is probably also due to the fact that 16x magnification is best handled with a tripod or the binoculars resting on something. Luckily these come with a tripod mount already! But they are still light enough to be held by hand, and I am very happy with using them in the field without tripod. Again, solidly made and a great value!

I love 'em! I take them hiking and my boys and I really enjoy seeing bobcats or hawks up close and personal. They are also great for night sky viewing, particularly the moon. Shaking and fatigue are not a huge problem, but I was very pleased that they came with tripod adapter, which I just leave on all the time. The binoculars are AMAZING with tripod.

Comments about Nikon 16x50 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
Bought these to put on tripod at cottage on Lake Michigan to view ships, birds and even stars. Previously purchased the Nikon 10x50 but decided to increase the viewing power with these. Now I will have this one mounted, and hand-hold the 10x50. Both are excellent binoculars.

Comments about Nikon 16x50 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
I live on Skidaway Island, in Georgia, near the Atlantic Ocean. Hot! Wet! Humid! Saltwater and Salt Air!.
I am an avid fisherman/boater, birder etc and have gone through MANY pairs of binoculars as the saltwater plays havoc on everything in the boat. Water proof/fog proof is what I need. These are great for reading channel markers and looking for tailing fish etc. I can use these through my windows and they bring the alligators and birds up close and personal.
The warranty of "no questions asked" was what made me choose these. I liked them so much that I bought another pair for my son. He loves them too.
Weight is no issue. Clear as the air at all distances.
I can now take them everywhere and I don't have to worry.
I used the $25 gift card to buy floating neck strap.

Great for bird watching. Has the power to look at birds at a distance and provide an image big enough to see the details. Works well with a tripod.

Comments about Nikon 16x50 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
This ATB version of the 16x50 Action is really well-made with durable housing and exceptional fit & finish. The objective is a bit small for the 16x magnification resulting in a rather narrow FOV and low level eye-relief, but the benefit of manageble size/weight makes up for it in my opinion. I think the value for the $$ is unbeatable for this scope.

Comments about Nikon 16x50 Action EX Extreme ATB Binocular:
Nikon wins hands down. I am a professional wildlife videographer and compared these field glasses to Leica, Zeiss, and Swarovski costing a couple thousand dollars. The bigger prices don't add up. The Nikon EX Extreme field of view, brightness, and clarity are incredible and exceed more costly optics I've used. 50mm objective lens diameter is perfect for my application. These Nikon's are also nitrogen gas filled making them waterproof and fog-free (a must have). They have asepherical eyepiece lens which elimiates image distortion, rubber armouring, and tripod mount. I count on my ability to focus to make my living and I am blown away by the quality for the dollars. B&H also had best price [...]
