I added these speakers to my second story deck just under the eves at my walk out style ranch home. It's something I've wanted to do for years and finally did it. They sound great powered by my Onkyo receiver and have plenty of bass, midrange and highs. I am very pleased with my purchase and would and will recommend these speakers to anyone!

We use these speakers facing the patio about 30 ft away mounted on the wall of the garage under the soffit. I mounted these vertically so I could point them at the center of the patio. These are wired to a 100 watt receiver. Bass boost on the receiver is not necessary. But, you can use bass boost at lower volumes without breakup. At higher volumes, these speakers had extremely adequate frequency response. Bass was punchy and clear and high end was quite distinct. These speakers are adequate for rock, blues, country, and jazz.

What struck me first is the solid construction of these speakers, which promise long years of service. Sound is just phenomenal. You can apply a lot of bass (for their size). However, as any other small speaker, these ones can't escape the fact that too much bass, for their size, can sound unnatural. In terms of brackets and looks for placement, they also get an A+.

These Yamaha speakers are very,very clear. They're on my patio and fill the whole yard or turned down they still are very clear.Actually, the sound quality is close to studio moniter speakers! Just a lttle less bass They'rehooked up to a 30 year old Marantz 20 watt per channel Amp/reciever. Thanks,Yamaha
