The Baby Ball Gag Windshield is a low-profile ball type wind diffuser for cylindrical microphones. The Baby Ball Gag Windshield is made of the same materials as the standard windshield and is fitted with a grommet that grips the microphone body. The microphone is pushed through the grommet, completely enclosing the microphone capsule within the windshield.

Comments about Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield:
The baby ball gag with the furry windjammer stood up perfectly to a very high-wind recording day I did in Time Square a while back - I was impressed.
Before that outing, I tested it at home by putting the mic in the ball and accompanying windjammer, standing in front of it with a large piece of cardboard, and fanning like mad. I was really only a few inches from the mic, and was fanning the large piece of cardboard for all I was worth, and the recordings afterwards didn't have a trace of wind noise. Good enough for me!

I use this with my Oktabva MK012 as everybody else. It works fine with the inversion/lyre mount, although the mount seems to need to be tightened really tight for it to hold.

Awesome windshield for the Oktava MK-012! Fits snug and does exactly what it's supposed to. Rycote makes some great stuff!

Comments about Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield:
Secure, snug and easy to switch out. The ball alone doesn't provide a great deal of protection from a good Texas wind, but is also very transparent. Add the furry cover and it's easy to switch to outdoor mode as your hustling out the door. The furry cover easily managed protection form 35 mile an hour gust. Easy to install, easy to remove (the front) and easy to add more protection.

Comments about Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield:
I use it with the Oktava Mk-012 and it makes a huge difference. Outdoors it really cuts noise but I mainly use this for indoors. It really cuts the extra room tone and other noises down. use with a really good shockmount and you will love it.

Comments about Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield:
This baby ball gag works great with my Oktava mod condenser mic. It can be a bit tedious putting it on and taking it off, but that ensures a snug fit. Not really sure how that could be improved, but as long as it works; I'm not complaining.

Comments about Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield:
I gave it 5 stars but honestly this is the first blimp (or windshield) I've used to go with the first microphone I've owned/used so I have nothing to compare it to. But the two work together to give me better audio than the microphones
built into the Zoom H4n do. I'm, of-course, using the Zoom H4n with the mic/Baby Ball Gag combo.

Comments about Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield:
I've had the BBG recommended to me over at the DVXuser audio forums endlessly, so when it was time to get protection for my Oktava hypercardioid it was a pretty simple decision.
So far, no regrets - it's been very easy to use and very effective in cutting wind/boom movement noise both indoors and outside.

Comments about Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield:
The Baby Ball Gag Windshield works as advertised. I suggest to get the additional Rycote fur covering (or make your own) to avoid further wind noise. I'm primarily using this with my AT4021 cardioid mics for field recording in nature.
