I use this product added to one additional double joint. It gives me full and complete range to adjust my camera. It is very stable and once tightened does not move at all. I have used various other articulated arms but this is locks and the most stable I have used. Great product.

I have a pile of these in use. If you want to hand a second backdrop pole from a single light stand, this gizmo, inserted into a Manfrotto 035 Super Clamp without Stud and turned 90 degrees will give you a dual top light stand.

It does exactly what it's designed for. It increase the possibility of angle to what you have attached it to. In my case, I attach umbrella adapter or a Four square to it so I have lots of flexibility for the angle I shoot the light to my model.
This item seems indestructible. Very nice.

I am using this as a top end connector on a Boom to allow easy changes in orientation of the strobe & modifier combo when used overhead.
I am Locking down the joints only slightly past the friction point, this allows me to easily change the angles and have it stay that way without having to unlock/relock anything.

This takes a little while to get used to since you now have two points of articulation and they're both ball joints. In essence, you have to support the weight of the light modifier as you articulate it. Possible improvements would be to have one end equipped with a mount and maybe keep the bottom joint fixed in place, but that would limit its range a bit. I've attached a regular head on top of this. With that much extra height from the bottom joint to the soft box it now allows me to more easily table top my larger softbox while on location.
Oh, and this is super sturdy once you crank down on it.

I bought this to attach my modified 3 flash mount, and then use it with the Manfrotto super clamp. This is an awesome set up! I have been using this set up at my sons indoor baskeball games, to attach to handrailing on the bleachers. Extremely well built - how could it not be - it's Manfrotto ;) Get this along with a super clamp. A must have in you gear bag!

I hang my studio light from an overhead system and this has been an irreplaceable tool to allow the positioning of light units. Love the flat part of the stud so when you tighten down on the flat part your instruments don't slowly slide out of place
