The FlashFlip VF (Vertiflash) features the same design as the FlashFlip, but the base also has more surface area that makes it ideal for larger cameras like medium format or pro digital SLR cameras.

The design of this bracket keeps the flash high and directly over the camera lens in both horizontal and vertical positions. In the Vertical mode, the user's hand is "on top" of the camera, the natural and most popular way to shoot verticals. This eliminates red-eye and unwanted side shadows. By having the flash high above the lens, shadows are cast behind the subject and are therefore not seen in the photograph.

The FlashFlip VF works with most SLR or medium format cameras and shoe-type flashes. Supplied with locking shoe and 1/4-20 flash mounts. All metal construction. Made in USA.

I had a Promaster flash bracket and this one far and away surpasses it. Though simple in design, it's hard for me to imagine why so few others don't use a similar design to position a flash in portrait orientation without contorsion on the part of the shooter.

Very sturdy and well designed and engineered.

Biggest drawback is minor, it weighs a great deal when you spend a whole day lugging it around at a wedding with a camera body and flash unit. This is truly not a big problem.

I used this product to get my flash off my camera. I love the hand support and the brack is well built.
The flip arm needs to have some sort of clip built in because when the camera is lowered the flip arm opens causing the flash unit to get in the way.

used for portrait shooting very well made but needs 2 modifications for Nikon. The holder will not work with a Nikon SB-910 Easy fix is to remove factory holder and replace with Nikon Sb-29 holder. Other fix I did as it was mentioned by other users. Drill 2 holes one vertical and one horizontal for using kwik release pins. Stops the arm from moving position

The concern of it flipping out or back is easily addressed. I purchased a 1/4" Kwic-Loc pin here [@]. Using a drill press I drilled two sets of holes. One for the horizontal position and one while in vertical. The horizontal spot is easy. For the vertical I placed a 1/4" hole in the slot already machined from the factory and then in the corresponding swing arm. It's now just a simple click - click and I am LOCKED into either position.

I bought this product on a recomendation from a friend who does a lot of Portrait work. I know of others that have expensive camera flips on ball bearings and such. This has the same results but at a great price. For someone who needs a bracket and doesn't want to spend a fortune I recomend it.

Comments about Flash Frame VF (VertiFlash):

Bought this to use for wedding photography. Everything was as advertized, well built and strong. Main reason for purchasing this model was because it rotated the flash from horizontal to vertical formats while allowing me to keep the shutter release on top. Unfortunately the rotating hinged arm does not 'lock' into position when the flah is flipped for vertical shooting. If you're not carefull with how you hold the bracket, the flash can rotate back towards the horizontal position and strike something. Needs a locking mechanism. Don't get me wrong, this is not a fatal flaw; you just have to be carefull.

I bought this to replace an older flash frame. I love that it allows me to flip the camera to the right instead of the left, much more comfortable! A little heavy, but not horrible. I do wish there was some sort of locking mechanisim to keep the arm in place. But over all, very nice.

When I first received it, the clamp which holds the flash shoe was defective and would not close enough to grip the flash shoe. I called the manufacturer directly with the issue and they authorized returning it and they promptly exchanged it with a unit which works just fine. They (Omega) were very helpful and I got no grief from them and their phone person was courteous understanding and helpful!

The camera body fits securely and the bracket is well built. Unfortunately the bracket, even at full extension, is still pretty close to the lens. So, if you want a little farther reach you'll have to modify. The only other thing is a lack of a locking device on the pivoting arm when you go vertical. It can fly out while carrying at a slight angle. Otherwise a well made product and can be modified fairly easily because of the good construction.

Comments about Flash Frame VF (VertiFlash):

After searching all around for a flash bracket for my event photography, I was thrilled to find the FlashFrame VF bracket.

Other frames rotate the flash to the left in portrait shooting - which forces the user to have the shutter release at the bottom of the camera. Personally, I think this is uncomfortable and awkward. The FlashFrame rotates the off-camera flash to the RIGHT of the camera body... this keeps the shutter release button on TOP of the camera when shooting portrait mode!! This is far more natural for me and exactly what I was looking for.

In all other aspects, this flash bracket is great - it has a very strong/sturdy feel to it, and will even stand upright on its own with the camera and flash mounted (if you have the version with the large platform). Additional features include threading in the bottom arm for attachment of a tripod quick-release plate, along with about 1.5" of vertical adjustment on the grip arm to accommodate larger camera bodies. It's also Made in the USA!

No cons I can think of right now, except that sometimes it's hard to find at the major online camera shops. So if you see one in stock - buy it! This is a great bracket!

I used this product to avoid the harsh shadows a flash creates while photographing a wedding. A great feature of this product is that, in switching to vertical position, the flash swings to the right, allowing the hand that is pressing the shutter to be on top of the camera, which I find more comfortable. I found that the wide base at the bottom is removable so that this bracket is able to fit various camera sizes. Recommended.

Comments about Flash Frame VF (VertiFlash):

I had a Promaster flash bracket and this one far and away surpasses it. Though simple in design, it's hard for me to imagine why so few others don't use a similar design to position a flash in portrait orientation without contorsion on the part of the shooter.

Very sturdy and well designed and engineered.

Biggest drawback is minor, it weighs a great deal when you spend a whole day lugging it around at a wedding with a camera body and flash unit. This is truly not a big problem.
