Fits snug and no elastic bands, this altogether better system than cheaper generics.

Comments about K-Tek Camera Shoemounting Shock Mount for Sanken CS-1:
Replacing the poorly-designed mic holder on an EX-1 -- Here's another poorly-designed mic holder, albeit a lot stronger. The fault is that you practically need to break out the K-Y in order to remove/insert an average shotgun. The mfr. states a size range, and my mic is right in there. But took me like 1-1/2 mins to install. I don't even want to think about removing it. I have a support for a wireless rcvr that I really can't use with this - this size is ok but the fit is just too much trouble. Now I've got to get another unit for my wireless.
ONCE the mic is installed, it's like there for life - and the mount does a good job as such. I do wish they had reduced the height by 1/2" or so...

I use it on my sony ex1 hot shoe as a replacement for the sony supplied plastic piece which broke easily. I need to remove it for the carrying case but that is a quick and easy process.

I use this to mount my sennheiser ME66 mic on my Panasonic HVX camera. It locks tight on the mic and holds it rock steady, and I can still fit my rycote softie on the mic just fine. It's actually a little too tight on the mic (hard to put mic into / take out of it), but that's fine because it means the mic will stay solid and not droop. Glad I spent the extra money and didn't get a shockmount with lame rubber bands.
