Comments about Samson BT4 Microphone Stand:

Heavy duty, and heavy (not unlike a competitor's model that goes by two initials, and just as high in quality). These are very solid, very quiet stands. I've had 8 of these for several years, and they've held up to a lot of travel and abuse, unlike most of the other brands I've tried. These are a significantly better deal than than the competition, as far as I'm concerned. I'm slowly replacing all of my more poorly made, lighter stands with these (and also the Samson BT5, which is another fine model).

Comments about Samson BT4 Microphone Stand:

These stands are actually the best stands I've purchased for the money. Super solid, and they feel heavier than on-stage mic stands the same price. So far, I'm happy, but I will say, one came in the box not fully assembled, and I had to use a TON of force to get one of the joints in place. It was meant for a machine to do it, not a human, so it was a little rough. I think that would be considered a manufacturers defect, and not the norm.

The stand is sturdy, but adjusting on the fly is difficult. Loosening for height tends to turn the entire arm.

Comments about Samson BT4 Microphone Stand:

This stand supports an AKG mic that I bought my son to use in his 'studio' in the bedroom. It's hefty enough to hold the mic although I'd be a little more comfortable with a heavier counterweight on the end of the boom. We just racked the boom in about 8" to provide a good balance. The stand is easy to set up and allows a six footer to have the mic at a comfortable height without it being in the way of the computer when he sits down to tweak the recordings.

Comments about Samson BT4 Microphone Stand:

I needed a portable boom stand for field production. This one is a nice combination of sturdiness, light weight and fairly compact.
