I've mounted this scope on a Marlin 336 30-30 for woods and brush use. The 1.5-4.5X magnafication allows for use in a variety of conditions from close shots to 150-200 yard shots and the larger objective lens allows use in dimmer lighting conditions. The wide angle of view lets you follow the action without losing the target. Overall, a nice, bright and sharp scope for the money. B&H had the best price.
