The Popless Voice Screens VAC-RE20 is a pop filter designed for the Electro Voice RE20 and RE27 broadcast microphones. The pop filter attaches to the Electro Voice 309/A shock mount (required) and features a ball and socket joint for easy positioning. Two windscreens enhance wind diffusion and the position between each can be adjusted, suppressing popping and sibilance better than standard windscreens and pop filters.

I bought an EV RE-20 after having it suggested for male voice-over work by many experts. It has an internal pop filter, but it seems my plosives are too much for it. I did not want to put a foam sock over this great looking mic, so I did some research and saw this. Many seemed to like it, and I can see why.
The RE-20 does seem to have very low gain, which might make you want to get really close to it, but that is where the popping can start. I did have to play with this add-on a bit to get the pops reduced, but it did help quite a bit. This is well worth the money, and it looks cool to boot.

Comments about Popless Voice Screens VAC-RE20 3.5" Pop Filter:

I bought this to go with my current podcasting setup.Despite the RE-20 microphone's built-in pop filter, I sometimes still peak when using plosives. This pop filter gets' the job done in two ways: 1. It effectively creates a filter to reduce the impact of plosives.2. It's also a practical way to keep me from kissing the mic too much, as is sometimes the temptation when there is no filter preventing me from doing so.It's easy to adjust, and gives you the option to choose between double or single filters, depending on what works best for your voice.Only issues I had with it were that the plastic material feels very cheap. Considering it's a pricier pop filter, I expected a more sturdy-feeling frame. The instructions were also minimal, but enough to give me the basic idea of how to attach it to my existing boom mic stand.Overall, it's what I wanted it to be and does what I want it to do, and my "P's" are much less "poppy" now!

Comments about Popless Voice Screens VAC-RE20 3.5" Pop Filter:

THIS WORKS FINE, I REALLY LIKE THE 3 INCH SIZE OF THE FILTER SINCE IT DOES NOT BLOCK COPY FOR MY VOICE OVER WORK LIKE THE MORE NORMAL 6 INCH SIZES. BUT, IT IS LIKE A DOLLARS WORTH OF PLASTIC, RATHER FLIMSY IF YOU ASK ME. CERTAINLY OVER-PRICED FOR WHAT IT IS.

If you've got an EV-RE20, this is the pop filter/wind screen to get. I used this in a broadcast environment and had to have one for home. It has two screens that eliminate any unwanted air while it does not effect the sound quality like some foam screens do. It's easy to mount and is adjustable. I recommend this pop filter highly.

Comments about Popless Voice Screens VAC-RE20 3.5" Pop Filter:

I have an ElectroVoice RE20. I didn't want to put a foam cover over the front being that I heard it muffled the sound. This pop screen doesn't do that. This pop screen is a must if you have an RE20. I like how it comes with 2 removable screens and give you the option to use 1, 2, or to add an optional 3rd screen. I don't see any flaws at all. It's perfect.
