Product Highlights
  • Dual Omni Elements
  • Standard Mini Plug

The Microphone Madness MM-BSM-7 is a miniature omnidirectional lavalier microphone that features dual elements for stereo capturing. The capsules measure approximately 1/4" in diameter and 1/2" in length for unobtrusive operation.

The 1/8" connection is completely compatible with microphone inputs found on MiniDiscs, Dat recorders and analog portable recorders that supply a bias voltage of 1.5 to 10 volts D.C. (also known as plug in power). The omnidirectional polar patterns are better suited for ambient capturing as the pattern provides a generous pick up area at the direct and off-axis sections of the microphone capsule. The microphone provides a signal response that features smooth mid-range, and clean high frequency response for maximum detail.

Stereo Lavalier
Dual Panasonic 61 series omnidirectional lavaliers are featured and provide easy microphone placement for stereo capturing.
Single 1/8" (3.5mm) Output
Both elements feature shielded cables and terminate to a single stereo 1/8" output connector. The connector is compatible with microphone inputs that supply a bias voltage of 1.5 to 10 volts D.C. (also known as plug in power).
Smooth Frequency and Sonic Response
The MM-BSM-7 stereo lavalier delivers a smooth frequency response while delivering smooth mid-range and crisp high frequency response.

Comments about Microphone Madness BSM-7 Stereo Lavalier Microphone:

Got this to do binaural field recordings. Sound quality is excellent. Build quality is excellent. One small complaint, although B&H's listing doesn't say it, the manual it came with refers to the clips as rotating and the one's I got are not. Also the cords are so long that cord management is an issue, but that's for me to resolve. I like the fact that I can seperate them that far.I currently have them taped to the backs of a set of headphones so I can record and monitor at the same time.

Great because you get two microphones for the price of one if you don't need the stereo aspect. Sound is OK. Let say not bad.

We're using this to record podcast interviews with an Olympus LS-11, which has just one mini mic jack and no XLR. It works surprisingly well -- sound quality is definitely good enough for our purposes, and this way we don't need to buy an cumbersome or expensive equipment to accommodate two mikes. A winner.

I boguht this for use with the popular canon vixia for my students to film with. Turns out it is only compatible with the bigger 4 audio channel Sony HD camera which makes it of less use since more students prefer the smaller compacter cameras when they start out. Alos the quality of the microphone wasn't very good - lots of static.

I am using this mic set up for interviews. I ask the questions with one mic on me and the person being interviewed wears the other one. I really like the loooong cord and the fact that the cords are split for max distance between microphones.

Comments about Microphone Madness BSM-7 Stereo Lavalier Microphone:

I currently use this product for interviewing and it works great! The microphone's omnidirectional abilities make it a great mic to interview two people at a time!

I'm an amateur at best in the audio world of video, but these are just so simple to use. I'm currently saving for a wireless setup, but with a 5' headphone extension cable I had laying around my house, I was able to make these mics work for interviewing people far distances away (10').

I have had these mics for just about wo weeks, and they haven't got a lot of usage, but I just have not found anything bad about them!
