I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. he is a pro dj and said these have everything a dj needs. The sound is excellent, you can hear the very low end of the base and yet the high pitch is still crisp (ideal for scrathcing). There is no distortion of the sound when the volume is turned very loud. This is helpful working in clubs. One of the cool features is that the cord is detachable and replacable because the most worn down part of dj headphones are the cords. Also the cord is screwed on, so the headphones doesnt easily come off the mixer when it's accidentally yanked during a gig. Overall, these are ideal for dj-ing. very sturdy and seems to last a long time

I purchased those headphones after reading raving reviews... I returned them within 24 hours! Besides the fact that they look really good, and sound decent but nothing out of the ordinary, they are way too heavy, and painful because they are very tight.
I was really disappointed :(

Comments about Technics RP-DH1200 DJ-Style Stereo Headphones:
Bought these for listening to music with my iPod. Quality is outstanding, I need to start listening to higher bit rate files now. Bass response is great. I mostly listen to Armin van Buuren and Markus Schulz, who use these headphones and I know why they use these now. 4 stars due to weight. A little heavy, nothing major, but would have like them to just be a tad lighter.

I've been DJ for 16 years and i've tried several headphones incluiding the Sony's MDR-V700, the Pioneer's Hdj-1000 and Hdj-1500, they sound good but these Technics RP-DH1200 are better. They're comfortable the material is pretty good and the sound is perfectly balanced (good mids, good highs and perfect bass). If your looking for a REAL DJ product, go for this! If your not a DJ then go for the Beats or something else.

I see many DJ's wearing these headphones, I also read the great reviews on this particular headphone so I decided to purchase it. Overall the look of it looks very stylish, the noise cancellation is good, and the sound quality is great too. At first I found it a bit tight but I stretched it a bit overnight, and now its fine. After many hours of use its good to take it off for a couple of minutes, your ears will feel better.

I use these primarily for home music listening. They are clear, loud, and full of bass. They do get a little tight on the head after long term use, but other than, this product is top notch.

The noise cancellation on these headphones is pretty good. The sound is balanced without leaving out any of the bass. If I could wear two pairs of these while I DJ I would, however they do start to hurt after an hour and a half or so.

This is the real Headphone! My husband is not a DJ but he loves music and he loves headphones. I got this for one of his birthday gifts and he has the old model but he loves this one more than the old one, of course! I'm so glad he has this now.It just sounds so good. and it's made in Japan! not in China! This is the real thing!

These headphones are great for dj's, especially those who play out and in loud environments. They are very punchy on the top and the bottom. They aren't the clearest headphones so I would not recommend using them for any sort of serious production purposes. Very solid fit around the head and the ears. I have been told they run a little to big, however they work for me perfectly on or off the head. Once again, these are the perfect headphones for dj's who play out in loud environments. I had my first pair for over 3 years, and i just bought my second.

My 2nd pair. First pair cracked after 5 yrs of heavy use. But they're plastic. It's to be expected. Sounds just as good as pioneer hdj-2000's. I own both. These are my favorites. But the ear pads on the 2000's are better. You can put those pads on these cans and have a dynamite can

This is the second pair of these headphones I bought, after my first pair was stolen at a show. I would gladly buy them again, too, but hopefully I won't have to. The detachable cord makes it so if the cord is accidentally damaged, it can be replaced for $10 instead of buying a whole new pair of headphones, which turned me off from replacing my Sony MDR-7506s with the same model when they cord became damaged on those.
As far as the sound quality, what really stands out is the bass response. It's very deep, and if you are into deep bass, this is as good as I've heard on anything comparably priced. They may not be ideal for situations where flat, "studio-monitor" conditions are required, but they definitely make for enjoyable listening and it helps when monitoring in the presence of a sound system with a large stack of subs.
Physically the construction is durable, the design is stylish but not too flashy, they're quite comfortable, and should proudly bear the Technics name with the 1s and 2s.

I use these headphones everyday now. I've been djing for 15 years by far the best all around dj headphone on the market. The only flaw I have is the size and weight of them. I guess they were built like a tank to last..

This is the second time that i am buying this product and definitely would not change! The packaging is ideal the headphones works exceptional, also the quality is great! The sound is clear and the headphones fits perfectly and is quite comfortble. I would recommed this product to anyone wishing to purchase a headphone!!!
The only thing is after wear and tear the leather would peel but is expected with any product after much usage.
