The joystick in the middle of the shiny circle acts as a mouse. During PPT presentations it's great! You can switch slides with buttons, point with the laser or draw with the joystick. What more could you want as a presenter? In case you're wondering, the mouse button is on the underside. When you grip the remote, it's at the index finger with a trigger grip.
On the downside, the laser is a little on the dim side by today's standards. I wish I had this unit with a green laser.

I work at a hotel/conference center and this is the remote we loan out to guests on a daily basis. The other reviews make it clear that this is a very good presentation remote with plenty of features to keep people happy, however I have found that it has one major downfall. The pictures don't show it, but the left mouse click button is on the underside of the remote and I feel it is poorly positioned. Your natural hand position when holding the remote puts your finger right on top of the mouse button leading to issues with inadvertently pressing it down when pressing buttons on the front. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen people go to use the laser pointer and accidentally press down the mouse click, causing them to advance a slide when they did not mean to. I have had guests get upset with myself and my employees because of this unnecessary design flaw. If you are buying this for personal use, it is surely a flaw you could get used to but since my clients have little time to become accustomed to it, this remote does not work well for my purposes. If you are buying this for a school or hotel or any such purpose, I would recommend the VP4450 as a substitute to save yourself the headaches I have endured from this model.

I have used this product (Interlink VP4350 Remotepoint Global RF Remote Presenter) in the past with great success. But this purchase was defective. Standing 3 feet from the computer the powerpoint would not advance. In fact it froze the keyboard on my laptop. As soon as I removed the dongle the computer started to work again. Fortunately there was someone who had a Logitec R800 for me to use or I would have been tied to my laptop. I am a roamer and the presentation would have been very stilted. I returned the Interlink VP4350 Remotepoint Global RF Remote Presenter and ordered 2 Logitec R800 remotes and am very happy with them.

No, it is not the cheapest remote on the market. It works like a charm, I have had no interference issues or out of range problems with this remote, unlike others I've owned. I use this for Windows' PowerPoint and Apple's Keynote. On both systems, it performs extremely well.

Comments about Smk-link VP4350 Remotepoint Global RF Remote Presenter for PowerPoint:
I purchased this Powerpoint remote largely based on reviews I read. While I have had it only a short time, it has lived up to everything I expected. I inserted the receiver into my Windows 7 laptop, and the device was installed in a few seconds with no downloaded drivers or CDs needed. It has buttons to advance slides forward and backward that work flawlessly and responsively. It also has a "blank" button, which switches the screen to black when in presentation mode, and brings back the slide when pressed again. A nice touch! It also has a built-in laser pointer that works as well as the vast majority of stand-alone laser pointers I have used. Finally, it has one of those small joystick buttons which moves the mouse when one pushes it in a given direction. (Many laptops have this type of joystick, but I mostly use the touch pad.) The reviews I read complained about this joystick being too slow. I agree that it is not as easy as a mouse to use, but it was actually pretty responsive for me -- and would be better if I used it more. Along with both left and right mouse buttons, this joystick gives one some control over moving the cursor and selecting options while speaking away from the computer. I have used this feature to interrupt my slide show and select a slide somewhere later in the presentation or in response to a question before restarting the presentation.
Finally, this remote has a solid build feel, and fits nicely in my hand. I have not tried using it at distances greater than 10-20 feet. However, it has never missed a beat for me, and I have no reason to believe it will not work at 100 feet as claimed.
While not inexpensive, this is the best remote I have used. If you need a reliable remote for presentations that count, you cannot go wrong with this device. Highly recommended.

Definitely works long range, presenters find it easy to use. We haven't used the mouse control piece as yet but it is the best PowerPoint slide forwarder and laser pointer that we have used to date. Only thing to be aware of is battery life, we had to replace new batteries after 4-5 hours of continuous use.

This is definitely the best remote presenter I've used to date. The Interlink VP4350 Remotepoint 100ft RF Remote Presenter adds the mouse control that our VP4150 didn't have. Although sliding the trackpoint mouse control a bit farther moves the pointer faster, it doesn't increase it by much, making it slow to navigate around the screen. Maybe a ball might be easier than the eraserhead, especially since I really wanted to annotate with the pen tool. Maybe someday they'll have a Wii-like mouse control and I'll be able to gesture annotations. This device is extremely easy to use, compact and comfortable.
