Comments about Avenger C1550 Heavy Duty Super Clamp:
I bought this clamp to put together a rig to shoot surgeries. For a while I was using a monopod and would just hold it over the surgeons shoulder but often times I would have to adjust the camera and then hoist it back up. My arms would soon get tired and the video would begin to get shaky. I bought this clamp and a few other things and together they work great! I've also started doing some timelapse photography using a shutter remote, this clamp paired with a flexible arm allows me to put the camera just about anywhere I want! The clamp is heavy duty and is showing no signs of wear even after Ive cranked down on it as hard as I can get it. The only problem I have with it (not a design flaw, but a feature I would like to have) is it would be nice to have the option to insert another 5/8 pin into the clamp somehow.

Comments about Avenger C1550 Heavy Duty Super Clamp:
I bought two of these, both were manufactured poorly and the connecting pins that are part of the system don't fit in the hole. The metal casting was not handled properly and shrinkage occurred, making the pins not fit.
This is basically the exact same unit as the Manfrotto super clamp, with out the paint and the rubber insert.
I have no less than a dozen of the less expensive Manfrotto superclamps and have never seen this problem.
