The way the flaps open on this are useless. One flap will open fine, the other just hangs. Totally stupid. After one gig I already have shelved it, and bought a Mackie bag.

Comments about SKB MX1 Mixer Bag:

I got the bag to use with a Mackie 408S powered mixer, when transporting the mixer to gigs.

The bag is well constructed, seems like it will do a good job of protecting the mixer, and be durable.

The zippered cover design needs some tweaking, however, to be more fully functional. Both front and back zippered flaps unzip so that they would fold up and drape over the top of the mixer. Problem is they are stiff enough that they can't lie flat or drape over the top. If you want the front flap out of the way of the mixing functions, the back flap must hang over the
power cord and speaker cables, partially covering the heat dissipation fins. It would make more sense to have both flaps open down so they are out of each other's way, and out of the way of speaker and mic cables.

There is also a velcro patch sewn onto the outside middle of the back flap, that doesn't seem to relate to the only other velcro on the bag, which is on a strap that runs under the mixer handle. This is too short to reach the patch on the flap, leaving a question mark as to what it's even there for. Maybe this has to do with features of one of the other mixers this bag is supposed to fit, but some instructions would be helpful if this is the case... however no instructions were included.

The bag is well made for the price , but needs a little more thought as to its design. Might also be handy if it had provision for a shoulder strap and an accessory pocket and / or sleeve for the mixer manual, charts or playlists...

Comments about SKB MX1 Mixer Bag:

This Bag has protected my mixer for about 5 years now and I gig a LOT. After the first year tho, the zipper on the back got scuffed and doesn't work, so noew its just a flap, Luckily the front zip that seals the front is still good, and thats what needs real protection. There's a more expensive model that may be better.
This is a very handy case tho because you dont have to remove it from the case to play, just zip the flaps and away you go.

Comments about SKB MX1 Mixer Bag:

Good snug fit and opens on both sides (front and back) to allow easy access to controls and inputs. No instructions included but the bag labels the back and front of the bag. Serves as a good storage bag, although I should note, it is not a sealed bag. So if you store in a garage or attic, critters may get in the bag. I stuffed the open slits (for the mixer's handles) with plastic grocery bags.[...]Thanks B&H

Comments about SKB MX1 Mixer Bag:

It took some doing to get the mixer into the bag, but once there it does just what we want it to do - protect the front and back in transit and storage. I like that it doesn't have to be removed, just opened up and it's ready to go.

Combining the price with the quality of the product makes for a great buy.
I use the MX1 Mixer Bag to house, carry and protect my Mackie PPM 1008.
A label for "front" and "back" would be useful so the user always knows what side the mixer is placed on when transporting.

Comments about SKB MX1 Mixer Bag:

This bag covers and protects the unit well while transporting it but the front and back panels get in the way of each other during use. There is no explaination for the hook and loop patch on the back panel and no pictures or instructions for placement of the panels during use.
