Comments about 25mm f/2.8 ZM Lens - Black:

I use Zeiss exclusively for my Leicas. (I have nothing against Leica lenses except the price.) The 25mm is a wonderful lens. I favor wides, so the 25 is like a 35 for me. If you not into wides very much the 25 may be a good choice for you. But for 'in your face' street shooting I use the Zeiss 18mm or 15mm. I love the manual controls Zeiss puts on the lenses. The fit and finish is superb. Only complaint is some of the 'Z' lensess have grease ooozing our the back and needs to be cleaned up.

Comments about 25mm f/2.8 ZM Lens - Silver:

I'm using this on my Olympus E-PL5 as my normal lens, and the results are great. Sharp, contrasty, with a lot of depth to the photos. Build quality is perfect, it's a precision instrument. Focus is smooth with no play. The silver version is really attractive and easy to read.
The only issue on the Olympus is a slight cyan corner vignette in some scenes at f/2.8. Usually I can't even see it, and it goes away completely by f/4.
I'm using the Panasonic M-mount adapter, which is working perfectly and looks nice.

Comments about 25mm f/2.8 ZM Lens - Black:

After using this lens, I sold my tri-elmar 28-35-50mm.
Don'tget me wrong, the tri-elmar 28-35-50mm is a must have. G read the review on it. But comparing the image, I can't help but taking the trouble of switching between this Biogm 25mm and Summicron 50mm.

I compared other choices, the only other thing I wold consider is the 28mm Summicron ASPH.

25mm covers about exactly the full frame of Leica M9's viewfinder. No frame line of course. But you need to look around, perfectly usable but not perfect. I have a 25mm eternal viewfinder, but I don't have a really need. In the worst scenarrio, I could have captured unwanted stuffs if I don't examine the bourder in the finder. Even so, I only need to do a little cropping. Not a ig deal, In fact I do cropping a lot even with 50mm. About 90% of the cropping is needed due to the judge at the hoot, not due to the lens/viewfider.

Comments about 25mm f/2.8 ZM Lens - Silver:

This is a great lens for use with the Leica M8 camera. But you need to encode it as a 24mm Leica Elemarit. Once encoded, with a 46mm IR/Cut filter in place, the colors are vibrant and beautiful. Without the encoding and IR/Cut filter, the colors are somewhat off.

I hesitated buying this lens because all my other lenses for the M8 are Leica and I really like the "look" of Leica glass. And when I first put this lens on my M8 without the encoding, the colors just didn't look good. I was planning on sending it back, but then encoded it and WOW, the colors just popped. I now love the "look" of this lens and it will probably be on my camera more than my Leica glass.

Comments about 25mm f/2.8 ZM Lens - Black:

I use the Biogon 25mm as a roughly 33mm equivalent on my Leica M8.2. A perfect moderate wide-angle for the M8M8.2. Right when I opened the package I noticed the solid build and handling of the lens. It's a great size and weight for the Leica M System.

After my first couple of shots I was sold. Tack sharp at all apertures, great warm color rendition, outstanding bokeh wide open at 2.8, and excellent handling and quality. I could not justify paying Six Thousand for the 24 Summilux, so I had to try this before even considering the outlandish cost of the Summilux. Needless to say, the Biogon 25mm will be staying with me, and the extra funds will go to buying more glass.

Overall, this lens is fantastic. The only con I see is paying the extra money for the lens hood. That's not a big deal for M Users, obviously.

Comments about 25mm f/2.8 ZM Lens - Black:

The 25mm f/2.8 Biogon T* ZM lives on my M8 most of the time. Great for working / environmental portraits, architecture, people in groups.

Good flare immunity - single small flare or none when shooting with sun just outside picture or in it.

The 25mm Biogon's field of view matches the M8's 24mm frame lines very well at long distances - finally, what you see in the viewfinder is what you get on pixels.

While not quite as sparkling as Leica's latest ASPH lenses, the 25mm Biogon is a very competent image maker - for a third the cost of the 24mm f/2.8 Elmarit-M ASPH.

Don't get me wrong, I love Leica's ASPH lenses for the way they paint images. But you have a choice of rendition versus cost now, where before there was none.
