Ive had the litpanle mini for a while now and always used the anton bauer tap. that has been light weight and very handy.
But now ive been shooting with the 7D and needed an on camera light. The lite panel mini is amazing and the rechargeable battery is definitely wort the money to have. It lasts a long time and is very rugged incased in metal just like the lite itself.

Unless I'm missing something, file this in the "What were they thinking" category. This battery is missing an A/C charger to charge the battery. It's an additional item that litepanel charges $55 for! ALSO...you can't use the battery to power your litepanel without the jumper (the cable that provides power from the battery to the litepanel.) It's another additional item that you need to buy for $9. Why in the world wouldn't they include the jumper? Raise the price, litepanel, if money is that tight for you guys. [...]I'm not sure if this is an issue with the battery or the litepanel but when dimming the litepanel mini while using the battery (the only way I have used it) you get flickering. The flicker stops once you stop dimming which is fine for almost all uses but the great thing about the 1x1 litepanel is that when a subject is moving close to you (while shooting video) you can slowly dim the light and keep constant exposure on your subject. With the battery you can't (unless my battery or my litepanel is faulty. I'm not sure if using a different type of battery would cause this issue or not.)The battery is very heavy so if you're planning on using your litepanel attached to the hotshoe of your camera with a long lens while handheld you might have a bit of difficulty even for stills. For the money there must be a better solution. Buy only if you need something with this form factor. The good news is that the battery feels solid and attaches well to the litepanel.

Comments about Litepanels LPB Rechargeable Battery Pack:
Very good light weight battery for those those mini-lite panels which provide accent lighting. The indicators on them are awesome and you always know how much power you have left.

Comments about Litepanels LPB Rechargeable Battery Pack:
In essence it is a great battery pack, albeit somewhat heavy. Unfortunately it doesn't fit as tightly as it should and is prone to fall off the light. Our only help is to use cable binders to keep it safely on. Not really what you expect from such a big name as litepanels. I wouldn't recommend it.

Comments about Litepanels LPB Rechargeable Battery Pack:
The price is worth it, simple as that... It holds a charge, does what you need it to do, and works all the time. I took it with me to do a documentary in Africa and was so lucky to have this kit, that is for sure!

Comments about Litepanels LPB Rechargeable Battery Pack:
Obviously this was made for the light, so it is going to be the best. Although they sell adapters, this is lighter, and lasts just as long if not longer. Definitely recommended if you have the litepanel miniplus. Just be sure to pick up the little jumper to connect it to the light.

Comments about Litepanels LPB Rechargeable Battery Pack:
Good battery, but we didn't take it with us because it is large and did not fit into the travel case with the light. The same battery that came with the Litepanels Package was enough and we didn't need the second one. Charges fast and has good battery life.

Comments about Litepanels LPB Rechargeable Battery Pack:
I use the Micro Litepanel with a Sony EX1. Off camera it's a great fill light, and in natural available light circumstances even a key light. But the downer with using it on camera is the weight of this battery. It's manageable, but it gets heavy very quickly and ruins the ergonomics of the camera, tipping heavily frontward.
