I spent far too much on my Nikon lenses to just risk having casual scratches and dirt ruin it. I was about to purchase some lower end much cheaper priced lens filters but after debating the cost of my lens, this price was nothing to really be concern about for better quality. The clear filter doesn't cause any yellowing of my whites like some filters. It fit perfectly and doesn't interfere with my hoods. I bought one of these for each one of my lenses.

I use this filter to protect my 85 1.8g lenses. I really like this product because it doesn't change the image quality! clear as crystal no difference on colors without the filter! Not cheap but worth it!

This unit is well made. The Nikon units has better fit/finish than my Hoya UV filters. I'm actually thinking about replacing my Hoya filters for Nikon clear filters. The only reason I use filters is to protect my glass. So I can't really comment on how or if they affect IQ. I don't see anything significant when I analyze my shots on the comp. I'm converting all my Hoyas to Nikons. MADE IN JAPAN.
