As a member of Pentax's premium porro prism binoculars series, the Pentax 20x60 PCF WP Binocular offers astounding optical performance with a stylish design that's fully waterproof & fogproof. Ideal for harsh climates full of impacts and extremes of temperature and precipitation, its aspherical lens elements and BaK-4 porro prisms with phase coatings render your observations into the razor-sharp stratosphere of world class optics. Each model in the series gives a whopping 20mm or more of eye relief, and they'll all take the optional tripod adapter (highly recommended in the case of this unit). The 20x60 is an excellent big game hunter's optic as well as being perfectly suited to astronomy and long distance security tasks.
This is the "II" version of the popular PCF WP series, featuring improvements in the sculpting of the housing as well as the eyecups.
High-powered binoculars are difficult to hold steady by hand; a monopod (and a tripod adapter if not included with the binocular) with an incorporated fluid pan/tilt head or with such a head attached between the monopod and the binocular is highly recommended.

I have owned these Pentax 20x60 binoculars for a year and use them frequently. Best features are the ergonomics of the housing, fully rubber coated, which make for easy handling. The eye relief is excellent. The light capturing is superb. I own also Orion brand 20x80 astronomical binos (made in Japan—the Pentax are not) and, the magnification is obviously the same between the two, but the light capturing is not that much different with the Orions--Orions only marginally better in light capturing. Perhaps the Orion glass is not as high quality as the Pentax, and that makes up the difference. The Orions are giant and heavy, and the Pentax, despite its magnification, is not overly big, and much lighter (3.09 lbs)than the Orions (6 lbs). The Pentax 20x60 is larger, though, than the Pentax 12 and 10 and 8 x models. In summary, I would get these Pentax binos before I would get any lower grade, heavy and cumbersome astronomical binos for star gazing. A tripod is pretty much mandatory for these Pentax binos. Sure, I take them to my son's soccer game, but I find myself slumping down in my folding chair to rest my elbows on the arm just to have a chance at keeping these Pentax WPIIs steady. As the B and H ad states, it's pretty imperative to get the tripod adapter and a tripod for these Pentax binoculars. They seem rugged, waterproof and the Pentax warranty is solid. Highly recommended for terrestrial and astronomical tripod-based viewing. I plan to get a pistol grip head on a tripod for these 3.09 lb binos and I should be able to get some serious birding in down by the river. Tip: I bought a Pelican brand 1200 model waterproof case and these 20x60 Pentax WPII binoculars fit in it perfectly. And I mean perfect fit.

I loved the quality of construction and materials used, but had to return unit due to more than expected eye relief. I'm used to binoculars that rest on my eyes, and these i couldn't get close enough to without losing the image. High magnification and FMC made for crystal clear viewing.

I found these binoculars to be excellent quality for the price. They are very clear and sharp and the action on the binoculars is just right, not loose or tight. They are a little weighty, so I appreciated the free Tripod that was part of the B&H deal. Great quality & value for money!

This is a heavy pair of binoculars and the tripod is just as heavy, the only thing I wish was that they told you you needed the optional mount to mount the binoculars to the tripod

Use with Tripod/Monopod adapter. High Power, very clear optics, good eye relief with adjustable turn out rings. Can't beat Pentax for good value binoculars. Free tripod is also very good.

These are great binoculars. Images are crystal clear and far away objects become sharp and recognisable. What more can I say. I highly recommend them and B & H Photo. Mine came with a free full size tripod. I expected a small desktop tripod, but this tripod was fantastic, mutch better than the one I have that I was going to use. What a bonus!

Before purchasing these I did a lot of "how to buy","what to consider" online. I even purchased some 15x51 roof prism binoculars and was throughly impressed until I tried to put on the tripod adapter. Couldn't get the cap off and I didn't want to destroy them so I returned them. They were vere accomodating about the return. These 20x60's hold their own compared to the 15x51's,considering the other ones cost twice as much and these are more powerful. All together I would definitely consider giving a pair as a gift. The click settings for the diopter are very precise and the focus lock adds convenience as well. Never having had a really expensive pair of binoculars I may never actually miss them.

I received this a few weeks ago from B & H. I use it for long range terrestrial veiwing and star gazing. I live part time in rural n.e.canada & am high up where light polution is very low. Pentax has never failed me in lens quality in either cameras or binoculars. A great buy & I would recomend it to a friend !

For the price, you can't beat the build quality and optics of these binos. Obviously with a magnification of 20x, you better have steady hands or in my case, we use these mounted on a tripod. Kudos to Pentax for offering a ruggedly built, waterproof set of binoculars with good optics. Sure, you can buy Swarovski and Leica and get better optics, but I'd rather hold onto the extra $2000!

Comments about Pentax 20x60 PCF WP II Binocular:
The shaking caused by high magnification is not too much for hand-holding, but to get good sharp views, you need something like a tree or fence to support it...Pentax 20x60 is so nice and i can see more than i want to walk Product Attributes: Value: I own a celestron skymaster 25~100x70 binocular but I can't see good images, they shake, I see double image on it Celestron and I could not hand-holding it never because it is to much large …I wanted something with a bit more power... and beter image quality. I'm still getting use to the very narrow field of view of the pentax..., Great power and clarity only complaints too much eye relief causes blackouts and narrow field of view.

Comments about Pentax 20x60 PCF WP II Binocular:
I purchased the Pentax 20x60's to compliment my telescope for Astronomy, and for general purpose terrestrial viewing. Many reviews I read before purchasing seem to indicate that these Binoculars perform above their price point. After having the chance to use them I would have to agree. The clarity of the optics are fantastic! You really can't go wrong for the price. I'm surprised they are not more expensive.
Regarding weight and construction - they are a solid build with features that will facilitate your viewing experience. From the focus lock to the hydrogen filled interior, these binoculars seem to be the full package. As far as weight is concerned, a tripod is of course recommended and depending on what you're using them for, a necessity. But that would be the case with any larger aperture binoculars, including these Pentax 20x60's.

Bought for boat watching from shore. Smaller and handier than expected which was a pleasant surprise. Slick no-nonsense exterior. Seemingly simple and tough eye cups. Nice picture with plenty of light even in cloudy conditions. A price that is hard to beat.
