The Kata E-690 GDC Elements Cover (Black) is a rain cover designed for small SLR cameras such as the Nikon D60 or Canon Rebel series and similar or smaller size cameras. When suddenly caught by a rain shower the E-690 slips quickly over your camera and allows you to keep on shooting. There is access to all camera and lens controls via two side sleeves and a clear view through the transparent TPU enables easy monitoring all the time. It has a full length double zipper that provides bottom closure when hand held or on a tripod.

If you want something that will protect from the rain this is not it. I do mountaineering and hiking photographey and the first real time using it in a storm it failed miserably. The camera got soaked and ruined my new T2i. I'm sure it does fine with light drizzle, but it was raining and snowing where I was and after about an hour or so of use the camera stopped working. I followed directions and everything, even cinched the draws and kept it zipped and there was water dripping from the lens when I opened it. I would only buy this if you wanted something for an absolute emergency and question it at that. Also it fogs horribly!

The E-690 cover is a good general purpose cover. I use it for photographing outdoor sporting events like football, soccer, cross country. There is plenty of room to see and access camera controls, but my 70-200 zoom is minimally covered and if I have to manually focus I'm out of luck.

I have been needing something to protect my camera from the rain for a while now but could not find anything that wasn't unbearably bulky or complicated. This thing rocks. It slips on and off quickly and does not hinder camera or lens operation too much.
