This Impact Turtle Base C Stand features a detachable base with twist and release locking legs that are easily removed to facilitate transportation or to replace the riser with an alternate size. A light head can be mounted to the base directly with the aid of a stand adapter.
The base allows individual legs to be set at any angle, and can be positioned in locations not possible with standard designed stands.

I have been using this product now for over a month and could not imagine life without it. Yes, it is heavy, and yes, it is a bit bulky, but on the plus side, all that weight and steel make for a very durable and steady stand. I use it along with a boompole mounting kit and 16' boom, and at about 9' high you still don't need any sandbags to keep this stand from getting tipsy. I plan on buying 3 more to replace the flimsy stands that came with our light kit!

I'm surprised there were so many good reviews for this stand. I've had one for a couple months.. thought I could save some cash over the Matthews one. But this one is horrible. The pin in the base does not stay securely attached.. it is taller than most C-stands so does not fit in my stand bag. I wish I had returned this as soon as I got it, but now it's too late. Also, despite feeling much flimsier and less secure, it is actually heavier than most c stands.
I used to be a freelance assistant in NYC, and have had my hands on a lot of c-stands. These are the worst I've ever seen.

I bought three stands specifically for ARRI 1K tungsten movie lights. I was expecting a cheaper build and lighter construction for the price and was very pleasantly surprised - this is the real heavy weight version that you get when renting. I am ordering another three stands. Also really easy release system for folding and unfolding support legs.

I love the look of it the moment I unbox it. The chrome is beautiful. The stand is super sturdy and you can raise it above 10 feet which is great for using it with an external flash or video LED light. When I am not out shooting, I use it to dock my HD4000 glidecam and vest. Looks very cool and professional. Don't think, just buy it! You won't regret it.

Channel 70 Productions needed a stand to support a heavyish light mounted on a short boom. Our other stands required tossing on a few sandbags to keep everything stable, but not the Impact stand. It's a pain to haul around because of its weight, but the Impact stand gets the job done.

This is the sturdiest stand I've ever used. The main stem is almost 1.5" in diameter. Its minimum height is 3 or 4 inches higher than most stands. It came in immaculate, brand new condition, and was remarkably affordable.

Love this thing. Lots of bang for your buck. I use it as a docking station for my steadicam. super rugged but very portable. My only disappointment is that you cannot lower the center column. This remains a tall load bearing structure. Industry standard grip equipment.

Stand is very sturdy and heavy duty, thus it's pretty heavy, but that's a good thing. You want it to be heavy so it can hold your payload. One downside is that even at it's lowest level its still a tad high. I'm using this stand to balance my Steadicam and I have to lift it up high to attach it to the stand.

I have been using this product now for over a month and could not imagine life without it. Yes, it is heavy, and yes, it is a bit bulky, but on the plus side, all that weight and steel make for a very durable and steady stand. I use it along with a boompole mounting kit and 16' boom, and at about 9' high you still don't need any sandbags to keep this stand from getting tipsy. I plan on buying 3 more to replace the flimsy stands that came with our light kit!

I'm surprised there were so many good reviews for this stand. I've had one for a couple months.. thought I could save some cash over the Matthews one. But this one is horrible.
